Q:I got my industrial pierced about three days ago. The shop I wanted to go to closed so I went to another one that cost a bit more. The guy who pierced it said to only clean it with warm water, but when I got my helix, tounge webbing and angel bites I was told that all new piercings need disinfectant. What are some disinfectants I could use and am I right by doing this or should I listen to the piercer?

Well you definitely need to use more than just warm water to clean it. Try using something like Provon soap and do sea salt soaks at least twice a day to keep it clean.

Q:Hiya, I just had a scaffold piercing on the 14th of this month.. and everything was fine but in the last couple of days my ear has become a bit swollen and has broke out into spots. The actual piercing is fine, I found some dry blood on the end of the piercing but I dismissed that as nothing. The piercing doesn't hurt at all but its the itching that's getting to me! :(Any advice please, (bear in mind i shall be going to the doctors)Thanks

You shouldn't need to see the doctor. You may be having a reaction to the jewelry. Doctors are not very knowledgeable about piercings. In fact, most that I've met are quite biased against them. Swelling with a scaffold piercing is normal. Sometimes it takes a few days to take effect. Go to your piercer and let them take a look at it first. If you're wearing surgical steel you may need titanium. Also make sure you're only using sea salt soaks twice a day to keep it clean. No antiseptic cleaners, witch hazel, alcohol, peroxide, antibiotic ointment, most soaps, etc.

i can only think of 2 problems. put boards under your feet so they dont sink in. even if it was tied to the tree, it would still tilt and be hard to sit on. also, it might be noisy. connections on that kind of scaffold are really loose. everything rattles. but maybe some foam, or weatherstripping would solve that.

They can't use one of the holes you already have. Things won't line up properly and it won't heal. They will make the new hole either higher or lower, depending on how high your cartilage piercing is at the moment. I would assume they would try and make it higher, but it is about what will be best for the piercing.

Yes, all piercings should be done with a needle. Guns are cattle tagging pieces of poop and are inadequate for any piercing. Everyone has a different pain tolerance but if it's something you really want it'll be worth the pain, and piercings only last for a second and it's done. I imagine it would be quite painful though as it's cartilage which always tends to be a little stingy when being pierced.

Q:basically im just a bog standard lad 6 foot 2 have tattoos but no piercings yet but i want something that not many other people havemost people these days have spacers and i hate thembut i was thinking of a black scaffold bar in my left ear?but it worries me it would look a bit homosexual if you get my meaningif lets say you walk down a street and you see someone with a scaffold what would you think of the person?

possibly none, if you were supposed to be wearing a safety harness and weren't.They could say it was your fault for not wearing the provided Equipment.
