- Q:i just need to know the age limit with parental permission?
- I'm pretty sure it's 16-17 with parental permission. I suggest looking up some of the shops in your area and seeing what they say. There usually isn't a set rule for it, every shop is different. Like some shops may refuse seeing, say, a 14 year old, whereas another shop might do it with the parent's permission. Then of course, once you hit 18, you can do whatever you want, lol.
- Q:I want to get a scaffolding piercing, but i just wanna know some information.. past experiences etc. So far i have two lobe piercings on both ears and the pain wasn't too bad, but i've never had a piercing on the upper ear. - I have two lobe piercings on both ears, two cartilage piercings and an industrial that i got five months ago. I was expecting my industrial to be very painful but it wasn't that bad (i have a high pain tolerance though) its a bearable pain. Like all other piercings the healing process is the worst part and still when i bump it (like when im doing my hair) it hurts like a B****! lol. And don't play with it alot when you first get it, it causes scar tissue bumps. Use H20cean spray or you can do 1/4 tsp of sea salt and 1 cup of water to help heal it. The healing time is long, 4 months to a year. I paid $65 dollars in the us idk how much that is UK. It was definitely worth it though! Go for it :)

- A scaffold piercing should not be done with a single long bar. Go back to your piercer, or to another one and ask them to change it to two short bars, this will take the pressure off the tissue. Then you should buy some cotton cosmetic pads. Fill up a mug with boiling water from the kettle, soak a cotton pad in the water, squeeze out most of the water but not all of it, have it as hot as you can stand and hold it onto the lump. The lump is likely filled with lymph and this will encourage it to drain. Do this for about two weeks. If the lump still hasn't gone away either go back to the piercer or go see a doctor. To the person that said it shouldn't be done with the two shorter bars. Yes, I know many people who have had it done with one bar and have been fine, but I know plenty of people with horror stories. My ear could not cope with the one bar and wasn't draining properly even with regular sea salt soaks. One of my piercings has migrated slightly but I'm confident that my piercer will be able to put my long bar back in for me.
- Q:I got an industrial/scaffold piercing a few months ago and currently have captive bead rings in (The piercer put those in after he pierced it). The piercings are now healed enough for me to change the piercing, and I found an industrial bar on ebay which I'd really like to order. Only problem is, it has two choices on the gauge thickness and length, and I don't know which mine is.The gauge sizes available are 1.2mm (16g) or 1.6mm (14g) , and the length options are 32mm, 35mm, 38mm.Does anyone know which would be the best to get? - Please ignore the the bigger the better idea. A longer bar can be as bad in an industrial piercing as a shorter bar can be. It really depends on what size you were pierced with...16g o 14g. Industrial piercings are typically done at 14g, 16g would be too small. The length depends on your anatomy...you really should go to a professional piercer to get the bar put in since your piercings aren't completely healed. That way everything can be 100% sterile and they will be able to fit the proper length of jewelry into your ear.

- Q:I know people have different pain thresholds. But I was wondering if it was more painful than a lobe piercing? It will be done with a needle and are they aloud to freeze it? Or is it not needed?
- I got my lobes pierced 5 years before my industrial so I can't compare the pain but everyone says industrial. Idk if they can freeze or not. The pain is completely tolerable.
