- Q:I want to buy a new exhaust system for my car, but i do not want to buy a ricer exhaust. I just want a better exhaust system so i can make my acceleration faster. So far i have looked online and all i have found hundreds of possibilities for a new exhaust system but i do not know what would give me the best performance for the most reasonable price.
- If you want low end acceleration power, exhaust will not cure that itch. get a timing advance to go along with a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust. that setup will allow your car to jump off quicker (using the timing advance) then continue to accelerate through the powerband by letting the car take in more air. also, make sure to do an idle relearn after doing the mods so the ECU will know how much gas to spit out to balance the air/fuel ratio. - back in 66 they did not have unleaded but they still sell lead substitute for the gas. if you change the heads and change the timing you can run unleaded. i changed the heads on a 74 ford truck once so i could run unleaded.
- Q:I have a 2008 civic coupe that i wanted to add a custom exhaust to. I just bought a Apexi N1 Universal muffler because i am worried about Massachusetts Laws against noise polution or discrimination towards loud imports. Anyways, Would the Apexi N1 Catback system have been better than the universal muffler being taken to the shop and having a 2 1/4 custom pipe installed from the Cat back? I‘d say it would be no different, right? Another question, How much different would the 2 1/4 pipe make from the cat back rather than leaving the stock pipe in and just adding the N1 Muffler?I would add a high flow cat but im afraid it wont pass emissions?I would also add a Header but im afraid that wont pass emissions?Doing a complete custom exhaust system would cause nothing but problems with emissions and the police, right?I want to do it up but i want to know what would be the best setup that I could get away with and still pass emissions.Can anyone Help?
- it all depends on how they bend the piping, a mandrel bender would be best but ive never seen a muffler shop with one they usually have those machines that just stretch the piping which shrinks the piping at bends which would make it worse than a real catback system, and as long as the high flow cat, headers, and whatever else u get is CARB legal it should be street legal and you can take the cops to court if u ever get a ticket for it, although all that stuff WILL make your car alot louder which in turn will get you hassled by the cops and theyll be ***** and give you tickets haha and apexi n1's are pretty loud
- Q:I want to get a DC sports 3.0 inch Universal Muffler Round Can Straight Tip but i don‘t know if i just need the muffler, or if i need a whole new exhaust system. i have a 2007 Chevy Cobalt SS S/C so it‘s obviously a new exhaust.
- It should just bolt on or you might need a adapter pipe to go from the old system to the new muffler inlet. I would check with chevy to see if this voids there warrenty. If it does I wouldnt do it just because thoes mufflers add nothing when it comes to power. I would keep it stock.

- No the merged system simply collects all the exhaust gasses and ports them out in a single location. You need to attach a muffler to that (not a cat. converter since the old VW's predate that requirement). Without the muffler, the bug is REALLY loud (which will get you the wrong type of attention) and there may not be sufficient back pressure on the valves. .
- Q:I just purchased this bolt-on exhaust cat back system from Magnaflow. The part number is 16936. I saw a couple online videos of this system and they sound much more louder than mine after I installed it. So I checked around and I‘ve heard that some of them come with resonators that I can remove to make it louder? I was told that it is illegal to remove the cats and it is not an option to do so at this time anyways. the exhaust is for a 2007 Dodge Charger SXT 3.5L V6. Any help with this would be appreciated. My friend told me that his exhaust sounded stupid too until he took out the resonator or maybe something in the tip (I‘m not quite sure) then it was much louder and didn‘t sound so restricted. - you could take it to a shop and tell them to take the resonator and they will. With the CAT, it is illegal but there are places that will do that.for a price. With the resonator off it should sound better. I have a Magnum with the HEMI and the resonator on it and it sounds great.but that is the V-8! just take it to a tuner shop or an exaust shop and they will take that off for you.
- Q:I am going to buy a magnaflow exhaust, dc headers, and an aem cold air intake. I saw pics of these, looks pretty good condition, reason for selling : Owner has a new car he wants to mod up. I will be meeting with him today to hear it. So what are some things i should look at and listen too?
- I'd be hesitant to buy used exhaust system components, just because your life might be at stake. Exhaust leaks are very dangerous. However, having said that, I'd check very carefully for dents, breaks, rust or corrosion. Make sure that everything looks to be in top notch condition. FriPilot

- NO. you may in basic terms enhance the noise by using changing the aspects interior the exhaust gadget ie removing the silencer components of the exhaust pay attention however by way of fact there are limits to how plenty noise a vehicle can produce and we does not choose a tug from the police for noise could we.

- best installation i have seen so far for the later profile v-6 is by bassani (i tend to rank bassani, magnaflow at the top of performance exhaust charts)its true dual exhaust system catbacks with an x-pipe you can see the installation on you tube (just search under mustang v6 bassani) there are a few clips featuring it. cheers 04 cobra
