Q:More specifically, do you lay the tile right against the floorboard with no groat visible? Or would you put a spacer in between the floorboard and the tile so that it you have grout along the edge?: when i lay tile i cut as close as i can to the base board it looks much better than having a wide grout line next to the base board that's how it should be done good luck

Q:i need to lcut a circle 36x36 inch on floor tile thats about 1/2 inch thick. can dremel cut this? thanks: Depends on the exact type of tile. Some porcelain and other hard bodied tile you ll burn the bits and possible the motor itself. If it was a smaller area you had to cut out, it would possible work. Not tub and tile. There is to different ones. They both are very good. If you can find the Kaboom grout cleaner It will do all of it. Q:I need pink ceramic 4x4 tiles to repair an old bathroom. At least 80 of them. Where might I find them?: 1 st try and determine whos tile it is, this will help cut down the looking time and possibly stop your looking all together .. If you have 1 spare tile look on the back to see if there there is any lettering on the back , this I ll help you with if you need help. Measure the tile , if its 4 3/8 ths you don t need to look at Florida tile, if its 4 1/4 start with American Olean and Interceramic if the tile is 15/20 years or older.. Anything else start by going to tile distributors and tile shops taking a tile or a pc with you. Realizing that you may not get a perfect tile match because of dye lots and shading even after a couple months this can be a problem.. Q:My dad layed tiles in his kitchen recently. He had some plywood type stuff that he layed them on top of so they are on a flat, even surface. But then someone told him he should have put a netting type stuff underneith the tiles too, to keep them from breaking. Is that very important, will his floor be ruined now?: Its called wire mesh. Its not used as much anymore. What makes tiles or grout crack is the wood below the tiles. If the floor joists are too far apart and the plywood is not thick enough it can cause the floor to move. Even a little bit of movement can cause the tiles and the grout to crack. The wire mesh will not help if the floor moves.

Q:We‘re renovating an old house, and the ceramic tile on the bathroom walls is just awful. I‘d like to replace the wall tile with beadboard. The tiles appear to be mortared directly onto the drywall. Is it a good idea to install the beadboard directly over the ceramic tile? Or should we chip of the tile or remove the lower portion of the drywall? I‘d like to do this as easily as possible, but not at the risk of shoddy workmanship.Also - all the beadboards I‘ve looked at are either painted or primed on the front surface, with a bare wood surface on the rear (glued to the wall). Is it advisable to paint/prime the rear surface as well before installation? With all the steam and moisture in a bathroom, I can envision the panels buckling. Get a handy-dandy little book so you have it with you as you go. Ask the cute lil helper at the store to help you with all you will need. Q:I need step by step instructions on how to install ceramic tile in a bathroom on a concrete slab.: I okorder . I'm going to try replacing the tiles in my shower. There is some water damage so I'm going to have to replace the boards, backing, and maybe even wall supports first though. I'm hoping to be able to finish it in a couple of weeks, luckily I have a second bathroom! Tiling is hard, you might have to rent a wet saw too. But it can pay off by increasing the value of your house at a tiny fraction of the $1,000's that contractors would charge. I would only do this project if you are patient and have some experience with DIY projects. If you have lots of time, then go for it!
