Q:I would like to give braided rugs as gifts to some elderly people that just can't afford much of anything. I've seen them at garage sales but have never made one. I am hoping some1 here knows or has made some. Thanks yes I do give best answers a comment for all your help.
Dad always had Mom save bacon grease so we could use it when drilling holes in heavy iron and steel on the drill press out in the shop. It kept the bit cool while not lubricating the drill and preventing it from biting in to the steel. Braided rag rugs were common and one of my prized possessions is a very large rag rug made by one of my Grannies. My shirts were made from feed sacks and flour sacks. I got to choose which sack of flour or feed we bought at the General Mercantile if the sack was going to end up as a shirt for me. All used wood boards were always saved to be used on another project. Nails were pulled out and straightened on an anvil so they could be used again. Barbed wire was always saved to be used to repair a fence in the future. When we butchered a hog we found a use for everything but the oink. Old fence post, usually mesquite wood, were cut up for firewood. When chicken houses and cow barns and horse barns were cleaned out the hay and manure was spread on the fields to fertilize the crops. Canning jars were saved and reused next season. There were really not many things that were not saved until we found a good use for them. Nothing was ever replaced because something newer or better or faster came out. We waited until something wore out or was used up before we bought a new anything.
Q:What raw materials do you need to make a carpet?
It is easy to become flat. Acrylic?acid fiber the abrasion resistance of acrylic acid fiber is not as good as nylon. Polypropylene fiber polypropylene fiber has good abrasion resistance, flame resistance and low price, fiber organic. Except for a few carpets, it can be used with high efficiency. Jute jute is mainly used as backing material. The process of spinning include Anso and Timbrelle, according to the characteristics of the yarn and hand feel, so it is particularly suitable for the production of carpets. Viscose fiber the elasticity of viscose fiber is not as good as other fibers, artificial fibers begins to spread, finally use fiber to make roving. All carpet fibers have distinctive features: Natural fiber and artificial fiber; 4, but it has a good expansibility and flexibility. Soak a few months after the harvest of coconut shell, but the elasticity and abrasion resistance is not as good as other fibers, Roving increases the strength of single strand yarn through stretching and twisting in spinning machine, two or more yarns twist together, but after the fire it will leave a scar: Antwerp strong (ANTRON). This light yellow fiber is woven into a yarn. Silk In addition to fine handmade craft carpet, all carpet are made from crude fiber through processing, such as tearing and combing until they become straight. Nylon is usually added to the wool to improve the abrasion resistance of the fabric. Silk is seldom used in the production of carpets.
Q:I've found some rugs that I like but they are all too small like only 2X3' Can anyone help me find any bigger rugs like 5X4' or something around that? thanks!
Rugs that are polypropylene are indoor/outdoor rugs that if purchased at the right place will be soft to the touch and offer the ability to just take them outside and hose them down to clean. They are offered in all styles from traditional to contemporary. Look at Frontgate, Grandinroad and Home Decorators for starters. They are much, much less expensive than standard rug fabrics and are beautiful. They come in all sizes. I picked up a 5x5 round for $99.00 from Frontgate. That is not possible in regular rugs.
Q:I know carpet pythons are semi arboreal but do they need a vertical terrarium or would one be happy in a horizontal cage. And what is the minimum terrarium size for an adult jungle carpet python? Thanks:)
A 20 gallon long WILL NOT work for an adult jungle. You actually have allot of options with a jungle, as they are semi arboreal, you can use space horizontally and vertically. 3'x2'x2' would be a great cage for most adults, though occasionally you see a bigger jungle. You also have to be careful as there are allot of people crossing jungles with larger coastal carpets, and selling them as jungle carpets. Not that there is anything wrong with them, but all size bets are off, you could end up with a 6' - 8' carpet, at which point a 3' cage will be tight. As to whether they need a vertical terrarium, not necessarily, but they do seem to do better with climbing space and perches, so it doesn't need to be vertical, but it should be high enough to provide climbing perches.
Q:What color coffee table and carpet do match with green sofa
Wool or something, the color of the king, suggest using light color! Carpet! If you can find a tea table with a little green trim strips is more beautiful white
Q:How can a nylon carpet be distinguished from a polyester carpet?
Nylon carpet is a new carpet made of nylon as raw material and processed by mechanism. Nylon carpet has a good dust resistance, while giving carpet fullness, attractive appearance, so that the vision is often as new. The application of chemical dustproof coating technology makes carpet have higher anti fouling ability, and can make carpet surface brighter and cleaner.
Q:What is the sole and sole of the carpet? What's the difference?
Description: double bottom double bottom is in the back bottom chenille and a layer of anti-skid plastic cloth, in addition to anti slip effect
Q:What are the best products or methods I can use to remove the stains my my white carpet in my new apartment? Some of the stains are from pets and some of the other stains are just drinks and other liquids that stained.
Hire a professional carpet cleaner. If you have never cleaned carpet before, you don't want your first experiment on a white carpet. Look locally for an established carpet cleaner. If you want to attempt to spot clean the areas be sure to vacuum well first. You can then put a small amount of dish soap in a bucket of water and use a rag to work the stains out. Better to gently work in a circular motion toward the center of the stain and avoid scrubbing too hard or you will fray the carpet fiber. If you use a harsh chemical it can discolor or stain the carpet. Use a clean towel to blot up the water by pressing it on the spot you clean. Try not to over wet the area as excess water can soak into the pad. Be aware that if there is a lot of soil in the carpet, even though you may successfully remove the stains, the clean areas may stand out as spots against the soiled carpet.
Q:Why are area rugs so expensive?!?
They aren't all so expensive, it depends on what you get. Anything made of silk is obviously expensive because the fiber is made by worms with very fussy diets that require considerable care. Anything made of wool is expensive because it is a fiber harvested from an animal, and in most cases you want the animal to still be alive at the end of that process. For inexpensive area rugs check out olefin, a man made fiber that in the finer grades is considered a synthetic silk and used to make many styles of area rugs simulating wool rugs. If you need a really large room sized rug, you can economize by have a carpet remnant bound up for you at your local carpet dealer. Shop around, selection and prices vary considerably. For a bound rug expect to pay a $20-$40 squaring fee (to get the rem to the size or shape you want) plus a linear foot charge to bind the edge of $2.50 - $3.50 for tape binding (most common) and $6 or more per linear foot for serging. You can usually find decent in stock carpet for less than $2/square foot and rems as low as $1/sf. Look for good quality in a remnant, there are really good deals on them out there.
Q:Where can I rent a carpet cleaner???
Some grocery stores (like Kroger and E. W. James in my area - NW Tennessee) have machines to rent. Some Walmarts do also.
