- Q:My husband is in Afghanistan right now and can buy those Chinese silk rugs for really cheap and we are debating whether to buy one for under our dining room table. Would you say it’s a good idea to put a rug under your dining room table is that I common thing to do. This is the first time we have owned a house and I am no home decorator.
- Yes it is common and can look very nice. I wouldn't recommend it however, if you have small children that will be eating at that table on a regular basis.
- Q:How do you clean the stubborn stains on the carpet in a simple way?
- Sometimes do not care will be coffee, coke or juice sprinkled on the carpet, this small stains, dry cloth or paper for the first time, dry, then use vinegar wet dry cloth, wipe pat on the stains. The dirt on the carpet can be wiped out more than a few times. The broken glass pieces with your hands, chunks with a broom and a fine particles with gummed paper, or with a damp cotton stick, and then get the balcony will shake shake debris.

- Hi For just a few spots Nature’s Miracle should work. It is available at Petsmart. Make sure you follow the direction. The main reason that it fails is that people just sprays it on and wipe it up and not let it soak into the carpet and pad like the urine did. You may need to do this 2 or 3 time. Just reminder that the urine treatment product needs to go where the urine went for it to work properly. After you clean the spots, you should shampoo the carpet using this product on the front and back of rug. In my experience, Nature's Miracle is your best bet. Good luck! Carpet cleaner for 14 years

- Q:I want the Rambo turnout lite in a 5ft or a 5ft 3, but whenever I contact an intenet seller about this, they say that Rambo rugs only go down to a 5ft 6. Is this true? If so, it is very stupid. Especially as Rambo rugs are such a large fit. My horse is meant to be a size 5ft 9, but he's wearing the Rambo lite in a size 5ft 9 right now and it is hanging off him, I measured it and it's 9 inches too long.
- Here okorder . Sizes from 5 foot to 7 foot (60 to 87 inches). You want 5'3 rug, or slightly smaller? 5'3 = 63 inches. So I would order a 62 or 63 inch rug. Note: I have only ever bought rugs in feet too, however this site uses inches. I would guess it depends on what country you are in :)
- Q:I acquired a huge area rug from someone who was giving it away, they said I just have to steam clean it. Well the thing smells beyond belief and we've already used a whole bottle of Bissel cleaner solution. Do you think t will come clean if I take it outside tomorrow and spray it off with a hose and some vinegar and let the sun do the rest? - take the rug outside on the concrete, mix up your normal laundry solution with some oxi clean and a 1/4 cup bleach, dilute this in a gallon of water, pour some on the rug and use a broom to scrub the rug. Then rinse with the water hose. If you have something like a couple of boards you can lay underneath the rug so the water will flow thru the fibers it will rinse easier. Let it dry in the sun.

- if you like a heavier carpet that would stand up to high traffic, then yeah. If it uses Stainmaster yarn, then you will have a great carpet. A 1/2 8lb pad really isn't necessary; a 1/2 6lb pad would do just fine. It all depends on your living situation: is there a lot of people living there? If so, a heavier pad would help with the wear and tear of the carpet. If it is just you or you and one other person,the lighter pad would do just fine.
- Q:We just bought a nice silk rug from a wholesaler, and its 8x11. Since we bought it, it has been shedding like crazy. Is it normal? And how can you tell if it is handmade or machine-made? We bought it for $350.
- Are you sure its silk? A real silk rug machine made in 8 x 11 will be over $1000. Handmade more like $3000 to $30,000. Its more sounds like a mercerized cotton rug. They look about the same. The cotton rug shedds more. Is there a label on the back of the rug with any infomation. Manufacture ? Country of manufacture? Any information will help to track it down. Post it and I will help. Two easy tests: rubb the rug with the palm of you hand, if it feels warm it may be silk. cool its cotton or rayon. One of the best tests is the burn test. Pull a piece of the yarn from the face. Just one will never be missed. Burn it, smells like burning hair, silk. smells like plastic, rayon. Smells like cloth, cotton. Also real silk is very, very strong. Cotton and rayon are must weaker.
