Q:Is it just me or is anyone else afraid of vacuum cleaners?
Oooh nasty things! I hate it when the vaccuum cleaner wakes me up! Sometimes it chases me around the room.
Q:Are Sears Cannister Vacuums any good?
My mother in law had a Sears cannister and after she bought it did nothing but complain about dragging it around behind her or tripping over it. I inherited it after she passed away and hated it for the same reasons; Give me a good old fashioned upright any day. We had a display home cleaning service and used nothing but Eureka and Hoover uprights. Loved both brands. A friend had a Kirby and it was so hard to change the belt on it she had to wait until her son could come to do it for her which was quite often..Another friend has a Oreck and loves it.
Q:Is there any vacuum cleaner that can compare to the Dyson Animal that has a smaller price tag?
Nothing really compares to Dyson vacuum cleaners. They are high priced because they are the best - their especially helpful to those who have asthma as they pick up virtually everything (dust mites etc). They pick up so much from deep in the carpet - I've yet to see another one like that. You could try the cheaper end of the Dyson family. I own one myself and wish I would have got one years ago. Even the lower end of the scale is better than the other brand of vacuums. Like pookyluc said, try OKorder or other online places if you can if it works out cheaper.
Q:When were wet/dry vacuums invented?
Daniel Hess of West Union, Iowa invented a vacuum cleaner in 1860, calling it a carpet sweeper instead of a vacuum cleaner. His machine did, in fact, have a rotating brush like a traditional carpet sweeper, and also possessed an elaborate bellows mechanism on top of the body to generate suction of dust and dirt. Hess received a patent (US No. 29.077) for his invention of the vacuum cleaner on July 10, 1860 British engineer, Hubert Cecil Booth patented a motorized vacuum cleaner on August 30, 1901. Booth's machine took the form of a large, horse-drawn, petrol-driven unit, which was parked outside the building to be cleaned with long hoses being fed through the windows. Booth first demonstrated his vacuuming device in a restaurant that same year and successfully sucked dirt. More Americans inventors introduced variations of the same cleaning-by-suction type contraptions. For example, Corinne Dufour invented a device that sucked dust into a wet sponge; and, David Kenney designed a huge machine that was installed in a cellar and connected to a network of pipes leading to each room of a house. Of course, these early versions of vacuum cleaners were bulky, noisy, smelly, and unsuccessful.
Q:How do i become a door to door salesman of vacuum cleaners?
Check out your local laws on sales and whatnot. You might have to get a licence. Once you have a licence though, all you need to do is buy some vacuums and then go around to some houses and sell them.
Q:finite math- minAn appliance repair shop has 5 vacuum cleaners, 12 TV sets, and?
Don't okorder.com It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.
Q:Why do vacuum cleaners never last long?
It is part of the disposable plan in our shaky economy. Nothing is made to last. I have given up on regular vacuum cleaners because the belts constantly break and, of course, your problem...noone carried the bags. Also, if you have a vacuum with a filter, they dont carry the filter either. I have gone 100% to a shop vac. These devils almost never cave in and it appears that you can always get the parts. They vacuum better too.
Q:Vacuum cleaners don't suck dirt into the bag, how do they actually work?
They blow dirt into the bag which then acts like a sieve, separating solid matter from gas. The vacuum creates a low pressure cell just in front of the nozzle by creating a high pressure cell inside the bag. There is more air inside the bag and less air just in front of the nozzle as the surrounding air.
Q:If you came to my house selling vacuum cleaners, and I answered the door wearing nothing but a smile...?
whoa baby lady to vacuum your house for free with a smile to match yours, lol
Q:Why are cats afraid of vacuum cleaners?
I think it's the noise, yes, but it's also the fact that the noise is so sudden, from complete silence or whatever's going on in the room previously. If a cat is motionless and all of a sudden, something is pushed towards her and she has less of a comfort zone, that may also scare her. One of my previous cats used to puff up her tail, curl her tongue and hiss at the vacuum until it was about 6 inches away from her. Then she'd run and hide until the noise stopped and the monster was put back in the closet. If the monster stayed out in the open, she would attack it with her paw when it was shut off!
