About six months ago i had to take the single bar out and put two separate bars in, i went to the shop i had it done at and they sold me two clear labret bars, at the time i did not realise that these were much thinner than my normal bar and because after time they became brittle and discoloured i changed them to two metal eyebrow bars as a short term solution, i need some advice on what to do regards changing back to a single scaffold bar, i would like to freely be able to change between a single bar and two bars/hoop, but im sure it would cause too much damage to my ear and too much pain to keep stretching it to a scaffold bar to then let it go down and stretch it again i will be needing a single bar at weekends not in the week, what should i do?

Q:I got my industrial pierced about three days ago. The shop I wanted to go to closed so I went to another one that cost a bit more. The guy who pierced it said to only clean it with warm water, but when I got my helix, tounge webbing and angel bites I was told that all new piercings need disinfectant. What are some disinfectants I could use and am I right by doing this or should I listen to the piercer?

Well you definitely need to use more than just warm water to clean it. Try using something like Provon soap and do sea salt soaks at least twice a day to keep it clean.

Q:is it possible for me to get an industrial piercing like do i have the right kind of ear shape for it ?

You can definitely get it! When you go in to get it they'll just measure the length from side to side of your ear and pick a bar according.. then you'll just have to go through the piercing process which isn't bad at all. Good luck!

Q:im asking this because when i get back to school in september i will probably need to take it out for PE once a week in the mornings if thats possible, i cant tell my teacher that i cant do PE because if they found out i had the piercing they wold ask me to take it out as its school rules to not have any piercing other than the lobes.so should i even get it, i really want it.

Q:Thinking about getting this peircing done next. I got my first and second peircing on my lobes and neither hurt at all to me (like .5 out of 10). How much does industrial hurt out of 10? Is it a similar pain to lobe peircing? Also how long does it take to heal, until you can take it out and sleep on it?

For me, I'd rate it's pain level at about a 5. Just all depends on how well you tolerate. It's more uncomfortable than getting a lobe piercing, really not that similar. Mine took about about 6-8 months to heal for changing the jewelry, but took like maybe 2-3 months until I was able to sleep on it again. Good luck if you get it.

Q:I'm 14 and getting my scaffold pierced soon. I am terrible with nerves and pain. I had a panic attack getting my doubles pierced. To calm my nerves, can you tell me what to expect?

I've passed out getting shots before! Almost to the point where I had a seizure. And I got mine done, and I thought I was going to pass out again! But my lady was really nice. It really doesn't feel like anything more than a lobe piercing, but you feel a bit of a pinch the second time it goes through. Nothing more! You'll be fine. Ask if you can hang around for a bit after to make sure you're okay! Good luck. Just take a deep breath in, then let it out as the needle goes through. Good luck!
