- Well think of it like a tree... there are the main genre branches and then there are other genres that branch off from it. so yes you are right but also at the same time your wrong. It all depends how you look at it. Not that I am an expert, ha, far from it. Screamo in particular branched off mainly from hardcore punk if I am not mistaken, Thrash is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal that is characterized by its fast tempo and aggression. Power metal is a style of heavy metal music combining characteristics of traditional metal with thrash metal or speed metal. Black metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal. It often employs fast tempos, shrieked vocals, highly distorted guitars played with tremolo picking, double-kick drumming, and unconventional song structure.

- Metal is pure epic win always different guitar tunes. Country is ok... now and again but makes you feel like your driving a truck. Pop and Rap is manufactured crap about nothing wth meaning (in general). Pop especially requires you to be naked and swirl your body while the same crappy beat is playing taking lyrics from old songs nobody has heard of for a long time. I would personally recomend the powerful WOM of dubstep. It is the cure for erectile disfunction.

- sure I guess, I mean power metal is more likely to have keyboards than any other genre and Equilibrium has loads of keyboards... But you don't have to worry about the genres so much, it's just a loose guide for helping you find music, you don't need to categorize everything, and that actually takes the fun out of it anyway, can't you just listen to music and enjoy it without worrying about the category? Equilibrium are a pretty unique band as well, I don't expect it would be easy to categorize them correctly. or It's folk metal, black metal and power metal rolled up into one, and then they added 500 tonnes of melody and AWESOMENESS. That's their genre.
