Q:Does the carpet need bonding pads without stitching?
No carpet or cushion. There is an iron like tool that burns the ironing belt. Yes, no problem. Where carpets are sold, there are
Q:when every i take my cover off my horse it lets of static electric zaps. (you know like if you shuffle along the floor then tap some one and it lets of this zap) but its not small zaps they are very loud, you can hear them crackle from meters away if you move the cover, but they are also EXTREMELY painful!! (It left me with welts all up my arms!) i can hardly hold it because of this (it only dose it when i take it off) and im starting to worry if it may be hurting my horse as well as me, So how can i stop this? Thank You.:'DPS. obviously were in summer and because i live in Australia, the sun is a scorcher. could the sun be a reason why it dose this?
I okorder ... Hope you find a solution as it sounds painful. Good luck
Q:I have a wool rug that I left in my garage for many years. Because of that it has developed a musty smell from the humidity. It doesn't have mildew, just a funky smell. What can I do to get rid of it? Thanks.
You could sprinkle baking soda on it and let that sit for a few hours. Then vacuum as usual.
Q:Have you or anyone you know had any allergy problems after getting new carpet?
yes...so see a Dr and get some meds or go to the store and get some OTC meds..
Q:im redecortaing my room and i want a rug....except rugs are expensive!!!!!!!!I FounD SOMe RUGS THAT ARE LIKE 30$ BUT THEY ARE WICKED SMALL!are thee any cheap ways to make rugs?
How about a rag rug. If you have or can get a lot of old cloth, cut it in even strips and make a long, continuous braid, making sure the ends of each strip are tucked into the back side of the braid. You can then lay the braid in a tight coil and stitch it together into a round or oval rug. The different colors of cloth make an interesting pattern. This is a brief explanation, but I'm sure you can find full directions on making rag or braided rugs online.
Q:what is everyones opinion on carpet vs carpet tiles. price ability to keep clean etc. thanks
I have both commercial quality carpet tiles and also carpet in our house. I am very handy so installed the carpet tiles myself. The commercial qaulity have a heavy backing that makes the tiles stay down without glueing. We had baseboards made from the tiles also....4 high and I glued them around the room. Looks fabulous. But you can use wood baseboards also. Carpet tiles are easy to install, just follow the instructions in the box. If you need to you can make a template out of paper to make a pattern. Then lay the paper pattern upside down on the backside of the tile to cut the tile following the pattern lines. But remember you have to lay it one the tile upside down to cut the pattern out of the tile correctly. Think about this carefully to do it right. We had our carpet tiles for 19 years in a high traffice area...in the hallway coming into our house from the garage. We're always in and out of thru the garage. They still look like new 19 years later...and we do have some extra pieces to replace if we ruined any but we haven't. I got these commercial grade for less than 1/2 price since they were left over from a big commercial job. I also put the carpet tiles in the basement in my husbands office. Have lasted 15 years and still look like new. Both are darker colors so dirt doesn't show. Have never had to clean or wash them....I just vacuum them often. But if I needed to wash or clean them I'd take them outside and brush some light soapy water on them then hose them down and stand them up to dry out well before putting them back. If you're going to use carpet tiles get commercial quality though...they are much heavier and wear better. I love them. We also have carpeting in our living room and dining room and bedrooms. Those I need professionally cleaned periodically. And of course if it's wall to wall carpet it needs to be installed by the company you're buying the carpet from...you can't do it youself. Good luck with your decision.
Q:My 2 year old female has taken up the habit of scratching and soiling rugs in our bathroom. We wash or replace the rug, but she keeps doing it! We also clean out the litterbox everyday, and wash it once a week. She also has multiple scratching posts, toys, etc. She eats only hard food and has clean water on a daily basis. We also have 1 other male cat who is 3. Please help! NO STUPID ANSWERS!
Old Cat Lady is right. Listen to your elders. OK sorry that was stupid. I would just sorta tap them on the head or spray them when they do that, or take the rugs out of the b-room and replace them w mats.
Q:I'm thinking of buying new carpet for my bedroom, the type that interest me has no attached backing. Is it okay to purchase carpet with out attached backing or am I getting scammed?
i guess you are talking about the padding. most carpet does not have attached padding. the foam padding is put on the floor and the carpet then is laid over it. if you already have padding in your room and it is in good shape . you can just put your new carpet over it. they will want to sell you new padding for a high price ,, but you can just use the padding you already have. if you want to look at your padding ... just go to a hidden corner of your room.. and pull up the corner of the carpet a little and you will see your padding.
Q:What should be done if the carpet has water in and smell sour?
Wash and exposure in the sun for one day
Q:Does a rug doctor perform well on your carpet?
Yes, the rug doctor works great! Some think stains reappear quickly but some stains may need extra elbow greace depending on what it is and how long it's been left on the carpet. Some think the carpet gets dirty again quicker, but that's because your not used to seeing clean carpet - it's been so long since they were clean. Bottom line, the rug doctor works great, and some stains just can't be removed. If you have stains get the rug doctor pre treat solutions for your need and follow the directions. You'll be glad you saved the money by doing it this way.
