Q:I used a carpet shampooer along with a solution of natures miracle and a small scoop of oxy clean to clean my carpets. My cat had peed a spot in one of my rooms, so i just went ahead and shampooed all the carpet areas. I know that the Nature's miracle says that the carpet has to be 100% dry for the odors to go away. Well it has been over a week and I have noticed that everywhere I shampooed now smells horribly like cat urine! It is overwhelming! The carpet shampooer is kind of old, it was given to me, and I am wondering if it had some odors in it. I took the shampooer outside and took it apart and sprayed it with vinegar but I am scared to use it again because i think that it distributed the urine odor all over my house :( I don't know what to do, the cat urine odor is just everywhere now! What do i do to get rid of it....do i just need to get a new shampooer?: Go to the grocery store, where you can rent shampooers. They're industrial strength and really clean a carpet. Do a second all over shampoo, then again with vinegar rinse.

Q:We bought berber carpet and my new puppy decided to dig which pulled the thread. What kind of glue do you use to tediously put each loop back in the carpet? HELP!: You can't fix it. It will be more cost effective to cut out that piece and purchase a new piece to fit in.

Q:Are rugs supposed to more or less engulf a room and be under the legs of your furniture (in our case that would be the 8X10), or are they used more as accents rugs in front of couches and chairs, not actually touching the furniture but filling the empty space....hence the 5X8?Or are there no rules and anything goes in the world of rugs?Also, any suggestions for selecting a pattern are welcome. Our chairs are neutral, but the couch has a strong leaf with some floral pattern to it, and in addition to struggling with size and colors to match it, we're also having problems with pattern on pattern. I suppose the safest thing to do would be just to forget rugs, since we seem to be challenged in this area - but the floor desperately needs something and the room needs a punch of color to balance it. Thanks for your help!: The rugs should be under the legs of accent pieces like kitchen tables or accent-end table. I'm not sure if the rule extends to the larger pieces.

Q:i want to knit or crochet a rectangular rug for my room not too big but not too small. ive looked on the internet but the ones i like are too hard and the rest are nothing but granny squares or look like over sized doilies =( please help me find classy yet kinda simple patterns.. pictures would help: One of the problems with substituting other yarn for rug yarn is that rug yarn is generally more resilient because you need to be able to walk on it, however, I have done some latch-hook work and have found that chunky 16 ply yarns are similar in thickness to 6 ply rug yarn and are therefore a reasonable substitute. 3 or 4 strands of knitting yarn may also give you a similar thickness and may work for you purposes but won't have the same resilience as proper rug yarn.

Very important, don t skimp on pad. Get the best you can afford. And have it in writing the pad will cover the manufactures warranty. Some sales and advertised sales will include a cheap pad. Pads support the carpet and prevent the carpet backing from breaking down premature. Vacuum every few days. Carpet makers say to do it every day. Have carpet clean professionally by a certified cleaner. Have it done on a regular basis. Have every thing in writing. This will include the type, color style what weight pad, whos doing the rip out and disposal of the old.
