- Nope, never heard of it. Best way to buy a high-end vacuum cleaner is to go to a sales and service vacuum store and buy the high-end models a few years old that people changed their minds about. It's like buying a used luxury car, they depreciate much faster than cheaper cars. The service guys can tell you which ones are really worth the bucks.

- My favorite is my trusty Shop Vac! I bought the smaller one. We have only one, low-traffic room with rug, so I don't miss the beater bar. It sucks up anything, and you don't have to buy bags unless you are vacuuming fine dust. The whole thing, canister, filters, and hose can be washed. I use it for our vehicles and the whole house. And when there's a water spill somewhere, just empty the canister and suck up the water. Costs around $60.

The power cord he severed belonged to a Kenmore Progressive Direct Drive vacuum cleaner and it will take about $25 to replace, rather than buying a whole new vacuum cleaner. I was wondering if anyone thought it was a dumb idea to attempt to remove the back part and replace this cord or if it could be done at all? - the okorder . the suction power is great. and it's amazing how much stuff the things pulls out of the carpet every week. ew! but they're worth the money imo. mine is a year and a half old and still going strong (which, believe it or not, is a personal record).

- I bought this thing because of their exceptional advertising. I hated this ridiculously expensive vacuum so much that after 3 months, I went out and bought a Kenmore for less than $100. This vacuum works 100% better and the chord has a button and retracts into the machine. I love it and am getting rid of the Dyson. *** I wouldn't buy it.
- Q:It's not but two years old. Took it to a house with really old electrical outlets/wiring system, plugged it in and it ran. Turned it off, tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't turn on again. No electric box switches were tripped/turned off. Also tried it in outlets in all three rooms but it still didn't turn on. Fo vacuum cleaners have fuses the protect the motor? Any thoughts as to what's going on and/or what I can do (besides buy a new one)? Any advice appreciated.
