Q:I am thinking about purchasing an unlocked Palm which runs on Windows Mobile. I don't think it comes with AIM. I guess I would download it from the website. My question is, if I do -- will AIM then run in the background when my phone is on standby/off or will I only receive messages when my phone is active?
If your phone is on standby and you're logged in, you will be alerted. If your phone is fully powered off, you will not (unless you tweak the settings around to allow the application to turn on your phone). You can customize a lot on the Windows Mobile phones just depends on how much time you have to learn the steps and procedures to make it work the way you want it to.
Q:Hi, i have a motorola razrlt;-- the first one that came out and i remember getting that phone for 40 bucks because i told them that i was a long customer and stuff, but it was supposed to be $150 for upgrade. Now, it's been two years since i had the razr phone and i want to upgrade a new phone, like the motorola rizr and the motorola krzr, i was wondering did anyone talk to any of the t-mobile staff to get the cheaper upgrade for either one of those phones??

Q:I'll be travelling for 3 weeks between Scotland, Wales and England in July. I'd like to have a mobile phone, but Canadian phones don't work with the European mobile systems. I would probably only use it for a couple of calls/day and maybe one or two calls back to Canada. After changing planes in Heathrow, I start my journey in Edinburgh. Does anyone have a suggestion for where/how to obtain a good deal on a mobile phone? It is also likely that I will visit the UK again in a year or two, and so have another chance to use the phone. Thanks!
You might be able to get a pay-as-you-go phone in Heathrow, if your layover is long enough. Otherwise, once you get to Edinburgh, find a mobile phone store- they are everywhere. There's three different ones in St. James Center and at least three more along Princes Street, so if, for instance, you take the bus to Waverly station when you get into town, you could easily walk right into one. You should be able to get a cheap pay-as-you-go mobile for as little as ?10-?15- phones4U has it's cheapest model for ?9.95 phones4u .uk/shop/shop_payg and they have a location in St.James Center. As long as you get ?10 airtime, although since you're not local they might make you buy ?20 airtime- for a three week trip, that should about do you. Any phone you buy here will work all over the UK. Look up the place you're staying online, then type mobile phone, Edinburgh, (name of area or nearby street) into Google- you should be able to find somewhere convenient. Have a great time!
Q:i want to send a pic to my cyclops virgin mobile phone how do i do it
Q:I recently got a t-mobile samsung t509 phone. I unlocked it to use it for cingular. I am wondering if there is a way to change the t-zone and internet settings to cingular settings.
Nope. Sorry to tell you that T-Mobile has made their phones to have the T-zone dafault in there. You cannot change it. I have tried it with some of my Samsung Tmobile phones. Its imposible. The only way out of this is re-flash the phone with the samsung firmaware not Samsung -tmobile firmware.
Q:I was wondering if you also could use a japanese mobile phone outside Japan? And I mean that someone from Japan comes in Europe and wants to call his family in Japan or something. Would it be possible to call with his mobile phone?Another thing:I got the fact about Japanese people sending each other emails rather than sms cuz it wouldn't fit with the kanji and such. But now I was wondering, what if they have like a friend from England who isn't able to send or receive email with his phone? Can the japanese guy that choose to sms him? I mean with the kanji it wouldn't matter because they'll have to communicate in English. Just wondering if the japanese people still use the sms function. Also if they send someone an email with their phone, is that person than able to see that email on his mobile phone AND on the computer? Or is the email address someone has on his phone completely different than the email address he had on his computer? So many questions ^^ Please give me loads of answers :)Thanks!
I was wondering if you also could use a japanese mobile phone outside Japan? You need to be more specific. If he comes to Europe temporarily, and still has a contract with Japanese carrier, he must have a cell phone with global roaming service. If there is a global roaming service, he can. cuz it wouldn't fit with the kanji and such. It's not a matter of kanji. Japanese cell phones are designed to exchange emails, no matter if it's alphabets or kanji. Can the japanese guy that choose to sms him? It depends on which phone he's using. There is no single answer. The bottom line is, he can do it with some phones. is that person than able to see that email on his mobile phone AND on the computer? Usually, no. Email address of cell phone is usually different from that of computer. But you can forward it to your computer, as you know.
Q:I am always browsing phones and getting tempted by every new gadget I work hard all day long in my job but i keep spending all my money on these high end smartphone I which I don't even use any advise on how to stop spending a lot of money on mobile phones thanks.
when you're buying a mobile phone don't get a flip phone. I had 3 flip phones in the past and flip phones don't last that long. and they tend to be easier to break too. When you get a cellphone think about what you will be using the cellphone more for? are you going to be using the cellphone more for texting, talking, emergencies only? If you are a texter and you talk a lot then I suggest you should get a slider phone with a keyboard because its easier to text with a full keyboard on your phone. if you plan on using your cell phone for emergencies then I suggest you can get a non flip phone say for instance a net 10 or a tracfone non flip/non slider phone. which one are you going more towards, prepaid or contract? If you have enough money to spend on a contract plan then I suggest you go with att. I have att contract and they are the best cellphone service. I don't get any dropped calls or dropped text messages and I get 5 air bar waves and I never had a problem with their service. If you don't like to spend a lot of money and you want to go with prepaid then I suggest you go with net 10. I use to have net 10 before I had att contract and from my experience net 10 never gave me any problems, it was easy to use and you would get 200 minutes for 20 dollars and you didn't get dropped calls or dropped text messages from them either and there were always bar waves on the phone so it was a good connection. the only thing I don't like about net 10 is you have to top up 20 dollars once a month because with 20 dollars they will give you 200 minutes but only 30 service days. make sure you shop around very carefully before you get a cellphone and check out the plans too. good luck :-)
Q:i have a t-mobile phone with an att sim card, it says i need a subsidy code, anybody work for t-moble or att that knows
Hi Lawson The T-mobile phone is sim locked, what that means is that the phone will only work with a T-Mobile sim. Depending on the model and make of the phone, there are different ways you can go about unlocking the phone to work with the att sim. You can get the subsity code for free from T-Mobile if you have an current account with them and have been with them at least 90 days. If you do, phone them, request the code, reason is that you will be travelling out of country and want to use that contrys sim. If you do not have a t-mobile account, find a freind that does and have them call. Without you listing the make and model, I can not tell you other ways you might go about getting it unlocked
Q:I can't stand any of the T-Mobile phones but I'm stuck using them. So does anyone know any unlocked phones that work well with T-Mobile?
you can use any gsm phone that is unlock so long as you are just making calls and texting. where your problem will be is with any functions that has to connect to the phones internet. t-mobile uses t-zone and it can only be accessed from a t-moble phone, so you want be able to use the internet, send or receive pic messages, multimedia messages, or download anything.
Q:I am soon going to buy a phone and I cannot decide between buying a windows phone or the iphone. If I do get the iphone, it will be unlocked to make it work in my area (HK). If you think Windows Mobile would be better, which device do you recommend? Here is somethings I am looking for:Wifi is a musttouch screen would be niceFull QWERTY keyboard would be nice too3g is a nice feature5+ hours battery lifeNeeds to be a good multimedia deviceThank You very much in advance
based on your requirement, iPhone will not be a good choice
