Q:.Can we charge mobile phone on an inverter / UPS which is used for a personal computer. There are two types of mobile phone charger available.1. Using transformer (old model) heavy weight.2. Light weight charger (using electronic circuit instead of transformer).Someone told me that the out put of inverter / ups is NOT pure AC. That is, not pure sine wave but similar to square wave.If we connect the type 2 (see above) charger to the A.C.output of inverter , then it will damage the charger. (as per my friend his charger got damaged).Could someone technically explain the cause / truth. .
The cheapest inverters put out a pretty rough square wave. It is possible that this could damage a mobile phone charger as the transformer in the charger is an INDUCTIVE load. As for transformerless (switch mode) chargers, they sometimes don't produce an output at all when looking at a square wave input. Using such an inverter to power a soldering iron or cup heater would be fine as these are RESISTIVE loads and are not affected by waveform. I won't go into the math and magnetic permeability etc. However, you CAN get inverters that are modified sine wave but they are considerably more expensive. These will run your charger just fine. They also have generally higher output power. Since your inverter is running a computer it is almost certainly a modified sine wave inverter and will be OK.
Q:I have a t-mobile phone and a plan. But i'm only a year into my contract. I don't want to change the plan but i want to change the phone. I was wondering if i can buy the phone i want from t-mobile which is a SIDEKICK LX- carbon. and just insert my SIM CARD into it and use it. Will it work if i just put my SIM card into it? and will i be able to access the network AIM. i don't need anything else. i just want to be able to receive and send calls and log into AIM, keep the same phone number and listen to my music thats it. can someone help me out plz. Thanks in Advance
I also have t-mobile and they have good customer service well if you buy one for t-mobile i think you can buy the full price which about $200 or they could extend your contract and give it to you with a discount. I would rather just buy the phone. Not having a contract makes you monthly bills a little lower for like 20 less. It does have AIM so don't worry and yes you can just insert the Sim card to you new phone with the same number.
Q:I was deciding if the I-phone 3gs was a good choice, but i was thinking if a T-Mobile one was better. Please help me!
I love the I phone. Sprint is supposed to get the I phone 5 in October. T Mobile is merging with att so it is not a good idea to sign a contract with them. There are many complaints with the T Mobile phones.I hope that this helps.
Q:And I was just wondering if you can flash a virgin mobile phone over to cricket?
Generally no. Especially the newer ones. Cricket generally will flash Verizon, Sprint, Alltel, Metro PCS, US Cellular and other companies phones over but Virgin Mobile isn't one of them. Virgin Mobile phones along with Tracfone/Net10 have the highest level of anti flashing techniques built into their phones (so people can't buy their cheap phones and then not use them on VM's network). I would just get a cheap Verizon phone as they are the easiest to flash to Cricket. But make sure you are NOT in a Cricket Trimode market. The new Trimode areas can't flash other phones over because they are not compatible with the new Trimode channel. Nobody uses Trimode but Cricket and Metro PCS at this time.
Q:i have a metro pcs razor phone, but i don't want it anymore. target has a virgin mobile phone that i want and i was wondering if metro pcs can transfer that virgin mobile phone into a metro pcs phone?please help!thanks in advance! ;]
Frankly, I am not convinced
Q:i got a t-mobile phone that has been disconnected i was wondering if i get a new prepaid sym card am i gonna be able to use it?
i think you should be able to
Q:Hey guys, so I am getting a new phone and have no idea what to get. I had verizon, but after the two year contract, I got to overwhelmed with the price. I usually don't call that much, but I send a very large amount of texts. I want something that is very durable because I do tend to drop all my phones. I was considering the Samsung Intercept, the Blackberry Curve, and the LG Rumor touch.IF you could help me decide if Virgin mobile is worth the money and if the phones are good thatd be great. Also, which one of the phones you like the best.XOX,CALIlt;3
Virgin mobile is way better than Sprint and saves you over 400 dollars a year with the Samsung Intercept phone. Virgin mobile does have reoccuring charges to a credit card of bank account that makes it like a contract. You don't have to worry about forgetting because of the auto payments. I love Virgin Mobile, and I am a total believer over conventional contract programs. The LG Rumor Touch is a good touchscreen Java based phone, but if you want the real laptop in your pocket feel, go with the intercept. Blackberries come with additional charges from virgin mobile, but the Intercept does not for the all the same features and more free apps.
Q:I would to find out the cost of mobile phone. Thank you,Beth Crawford
by cost of a mobile phone I am assuming you mean cell phone it can be anywhere from $5 to $450 depending on what you are looking for in a phone my Droid X was $200 my little brothers phone was $50 there is no set price for a cellphone. Just go to a carriers (Verizon, ATT) store and look for a phone that you like.
Q:Forgive me for maybe being a little stupid but i assume that a sim free unlocked mobile phone is just a plain old handset that will accept any sim card?I currently have a phone with Tesco mobile on a PAYG tariff - i assume that if i bought a sim free unlocked phone, i could take my sim card from my current phone and put it into the new one and it would work just fine? ie. i'd keep my current number and i'd stay on my PAYG tariff?
Hi Dude if you get an unlocked phone put your current sim card in it then YES it will work fine the only thing your need to do is contact tesco customer services to get the settings for mms the internet sent to your phone so that you can still send recieve picture messages (providing it is a camera phone?) yes you will keep your same no. it will still be on the same payg tariff ! as all your account details no. etc are all programmed into the sim card ! no your not being stupid for asking the question if your unsure yes a sim free unlocked phone is just a normal phone that will accept any sim card hope this helps
Q:Anyone has or has had a virgin mobile phone--- what are the pros and cons. I know they're good 'cause there is no contract but money wise would you spend more on one of these then on a cell phone with a contract?
I owned one: PROS: Cheap, strong phones, CONS: TERIBLE COVERAGE AND CALL IS NEVER CLEAR, my suggestion, get a cingular prepaid!
