Q:I have a 1994 convertible with a plastic rear window, and it has 13 years of dirtiness on that thing. There is a bunch of ugly what I presume are scratches all across teh middle (probably from the folding process).Also, there are little almost transparent white circles (you have to see them from an angle though)... that are also really annoying.Can you identify what those circles are??I've tried meguire's plastx polish...and even some white vinegar distilled in water.Currently, im looking for a more aggressive product.: when mine did that i spent a year and a lot of cash tryin to fix it in the end i realized i should of just replaced it to begin with. If you decide to replace it, you might have to do the whole top, but its worth it. Just make sure that when you do replace it to look for a company that makes one with a GLASS rear window. You be glad you did. I am.

Q:Do they get melted down with the paper particles or is there someone that removes the plastic parts? Just curious.: technically you should remove them before you put them in the recycling but i suppose there must be a load of people who have to sort through it all and remove them all by hand as you can't recycle paper and plastic together

Q:...even when washing it? And I live in San Diego, not like in TX where the cling probably would bake into the window. But the windows are tinted, so it would have to be on the outside. The cling is about 6quot; in diameter.: I would think it may stick, but it would probably fall off due to the bumpiness of driving, plus when you wash it, it will make it fall off. If your windows are tinted, I wouldn't even mess with it because it may cause a discoloration, but I am not positive. I hope this helps you some! Btw, I love window clings too! :)

Q:I am talking about the stuff you tape to the inside of your home windows and use a hair dryer to stretch it tight. It is supposed to keep single pane windows better at keeping in the heat. I live where it gets 30 degrees at night and 40-50 during the day in winter. Does anyone have experience with these products? Which type works best? Mainly, does it really keep heat in? OR does it keep sunlight heat out and balance out to zero help?: Yes, this stuff does work, and I don't think there is much of a difference between the various brands; though some are easier to work with than others. You could also try caulking cord. I discovered this stuff at Home Depot and it works really well, too. You put it over all gaps in the window and frame and smooth it down with your fingers.

Q:My windows seem to be extra drafty this year... It seems like one of them is open, but I can't find anything wrong with them. Anyhow, my heat is kicking on like every 15 minutes! I don't wanna get a $300 gas bill every month till winter is over... I'm thinking about putting plastic up on the windows --- How do I do this? It may be also that the caulking around the windows needs to be checked and maybe replaced or repaired. (This is the landlord's responsibility!)

Q:Is it ok to recycle these envelops with other white office paper? Or do they belong to the garbage bin?: Those envelops are so frustrating! I separate the plastic from the paper...either cut it out with scissors if ripping it out is too 'messy'. Recycle the envelope and unfortunately add the plastic to the garbage bin. That's what I do anyways. Hope that helps.

Q:I'm about to move into an apartment room that I have been warned gets very cold in the winter (I live in MN). However, the person telling me this also mentioned that the windows had not been plastic wrapped the previous winter. In her opinion, however, plastic wrapping the windows would do no good because according to her quot;you can actually feel the cold coming up through the floor.quot; I think it's possible though that what she felt coming in through the floor was actually the drafts from the window sinking to the ground and spreading. Would plastic wrapping my windows eliminate this problem? Or would the room still be cold/I should request a different one? Thanks: The glass itself? No. It needs an air barrier between the plastic and the window.. So basically you put plastic on the sill and walls, covering the window over all, and yes, that does work. I do it on my bathroom window during winter. Because it gets freekin' cold. Nobody likes taking a hot shower, then walking out of it nude in to Antarctica..

Q:So we just moved into an old home that is notorious for being difficult to keep warm in the winter. The previous tenants had plastic on the windows to keep the cold out. Does it serve a purpose?: rip it off - the best thing in the winter - is styrofoam covering windows - its 1/2 inch or thicker - insulates way much better - with plastic over the styrofoam - teeth cold - summer - take them off - reinstall for winter - and for an extra bonus - the home invader wont see whats coming to his face breaking in - TACTICAL ADVANTAGE AND A GOOD ONE - yes take down the plastic - too hot in summer

Q:It is a clean tear- about 2 inches. I was wondering if there is anything I can use to glue it back together, or if a mechanic/garage would be able to fix it?: you can try glueing it back together with super glue or somthing, but other than that, you will need a new window. Do you car what it looks like? the glue wont hold forever
