Q:how to take down plasterboard to install insulation and then replace board.?
Are you taking down just the walls, just the ceiling, or everything ? If it's just the walls or ceiling, cut the seam with a sheetrock knife so you will have a clean joint to work to. If your taking the whole thing down, then it doesn't matter. Here's a hint. If you've never done this before, you might want to seek out a professional. Drywall looks easy, but it's not. Look for a house under construction and approach the guys working there for a name of a drywaller. Everybody in construction looks for side jobs. Buy the materials and pay the hangers and finishers in cash when they're done.
Q:What is the difference between plasterboard/wallboard/ baseboard?
hi wallboard and plaster broad is the same thing. if your in a loft you need the fire rated type this is 5/8 thick gypsum makes it baseboard is the board the go after the wallboard at the bottom to cover crack between the wallboard and the floor 30 yrs master carpenter
Q:I've got a wall mount for my 37inch tele but its got togo in2 plasterboard. Is this possible, any recomendation?
Just make sure you hit the studs and it will be fine!
Q:Gypsum board is used to do?
1. ordinary paper gypsum board: ivory white paper, gray back paper, is the most economical varieties. Applicable to non-special requirements of the use of places, the use of continuous relative humidity of not more than 65%. Because of the price reasons, many people like to use 9.5mm thick ordinary gypsum board to do the ceiling, but because the 9.5mm plain paper gypsum board is relatively thin, the intensity is not high, in the recent more rainy wet conditions prone to deformation, Recommended to do the best choice for more than 12mm ceiling gypsum board. At the same time, the use of thicker plates is also an effective means of preventing joint cracking. 2. Water-resistant paper gypsum board: green paper, green back, its core and face paper have been waterproof. According to the requirements of the national standard, water-resistant plaster board and board core must meet a certain degree of water requirements (surface water absorption of not more than 160 grams, water absorption of not more than 10%). Suitable for humid places and areas with high humidity. In the most recent rainy season, it is best to use water resistant plasterboard. Waterproof paper gypsum board for continuous relative humidity of not more than 95% of the use of places, such as bathroom, bathroom and so on. 3. Fire-resistant plaster board: red paper, gray back paper, the core of the core to increase the refractory materials and a large number of glass fiber. If you cut the gypsum board, you can see from the cross section to see a lot of glass fiber. Good quality refractory plaster board should choose a good refractory performance of alkali-free glass, the general products are used in the alkali or high alkali glass.
Q:Is plasterboard another name for drywall?
Technically no but the terms are used interchangeably nowadays. Plasterboard used to be a rough textured sheet product used to provide a base for the final skim-coat plaster. After sheet rock was perfected in the mid 60s nobody used plasterboard anymore but the name stuck.
Q:Gypsum board ceiling, the first brush fire paint or paint the first latex paint?
Paste gypsum board is B1 grade (flame retardant) material, do not need to brush fire retardant paint can be directly brush latex paint; MDF can be the first brush after the paint to be dry and then brush latex paint. Cracking is due to the fact that the shrinkage of the two coatings and materials is not the same.
Q:How do we find the house frame behind the plasterboard?
Have you tried a stud finder? They can read metal near the surface or do a deeper scan. You can find one at any hardware store or even walmart. It will read the edges of the steel frames in the wall then you can lightly mark these readings with chalk. I am not sure how you plan on hooking fasteners into a steel frame? You may want to ask the pro at home depot or Lowes for some advice.
Q:Plasterboard Walls - how do you fill screw holes?
What do you mean, plugs? Do you mean the screw anchors ? If so you need to try and get these out or at least take a knife if they are plastic and cut them off. Then Spackle with a soft putty than can be found at WalMart or any hardware store. With a puddy knife try to keep it as smooth as possible, let dry and sand smooth to the wall. Do a second coat untill the wall is totally smooth. Then paint.
Q:What is the best way to repair 20 cms diameter water damage to a plasterboard ceiling?
If it is just the stain you are worried about you can use a good stain blocker primer and then repaint. I personally like Zinsser.
Q:What kind of plasterboard would you use in a gym?
you would not require vapour control plasterboard as this is only really required where there is a build up of steam , i would go for extra durable.
