Q:Where can you find a replacement VOX Valvetronix power cord and guitar jack?
The power cable is just a standard plug. The one in the back of your computer will work. You can find replacements at drug stores, Radio Shack, hardware stores, Best Buy, and of course guitar stores. The instrument cable is a standard 1/4'' jack and the cable is shielded. This you can find at Radio Shack, a guitar store, or Best Buy. Make sure you get an 'instrument' cable. Speaker cable looks similar and will actually work but it's not shielded and you'll get electrical interference messing up your signal.
Q:Why dont overhead power cables have rubber/plastic cover so that if they fall they cant cause serious injury?
In addition to factors cited in the above answer, I think it's a matter of cost/economy as well. In a more developed/ wealthier country such as the USA bare high voltage power lines are hung aerially only in less populated areas and over trips of land that are called utility easements, dedicated to power transmission and no other structures are allowed to be built there. These high-voltage transmission lines are buried underground, in concrete ducts when they run through densely populated areas, a very expensive way to transmit power. Most of the aerial lines (lines hung overhead) you see in populated areas in the US are covered (insulated) low voltage telephone lines or covered (insulated) medium-voltage power (electric) distribution lines going to neighborhoods and homes.
Q:How do I reseat the hard disk data and power cables?
Re-seating is nothing more than unplugging a connection, then plugging it back in. Your real problem sound related to the 230/115 switch, if not the power supply itself.
Q:I replaced my Western Digital hard drive. Can I connect it externally? How? It has no power supply cable.?
Hard Drive cable: similar to a dock, but they are just a cable. Simply plug into an open USB or FireWire port, and plug the other end into the hard drive. They have the same issue as a dock though - no protection for the hard drive itself: it just sits exposed on your desk. (I can't find a link for this one in the couple seconds I checked. Sorry) Things to remember with all those options: * Make sure your choice supports your OS: most options work with both Windows and OS X, but some are only one or the other. * Know what interface your hard drive uses. Is it ATA? SATA? IDE? Make sure you buy the product with the right plug for your HDD. * Look at reviews. Especially if you go with a dock: there are lots of cheap ones that have crappy reviews. Do a little research before you buy. Personally, I prefer the case. They work great and you can always switch the hard drive out whenever you want. I just replaced 3 of my 250GB drives with 1TB and it took me all of 5 minutes! Enjoy! PS - I use NewEgg.Com for most of my HDD needs. They have awesome prices and sweet return policies in case something doesn't work when you get it (although that's never happend to me - knock on wood).
Q:what graphics cards use the 8pin power connector cables?
If you buy a high-end video card, it may need an auxiliary power cable plugged into it. It's easy to forget these if you're not accustomed to needing one. The auxiliary cable is probably going to be a 6-pin PCI-Express power cable, possibly a pair of them, and the latest video cards may even use a brand-new 8-pin design.
Q:Can I use a power extension cable overseas?
You'd use the correct AC power cord that replaces the toggle-head part, and that would be the best part. These can be bought with a variety of different ends on them; while the adapter itself will work with any of the supported voltage ranges, automatically.
Q:IDE HDD to SATA PSU no power cable?
Q:Is it safe to jump a 12v power cable from one amp to another amp..help!!!?
it is safe...but not the best method it really depends on the guage of the wire....best to have a single large gauge running to a distribution block then a wire for each amp comming out of the block to were the amps are. blocks are fairly cheap (usually less than 20 bucks) and safer...plus you get better power flow and 1 amp is not sucking all the power before it gets to the other
Q:Laptop power cable cut..?
If you know how to do a reasonably-competent job and cover your splices with heat shrink tubing, there is no problem. Note that if we're talking about the cable that connects to the laptop, the current is fairly high (3A or so) so the splice cannot be thinner than the wire in the cable at any point. The splice should be both mechanically and electrically solid. If there's a bulge, a thin part, wire sticking out, loose tape ends, or any other such nonsense, the cord should *definitely* not be used. Any signs of incompetent assembly should be cause for completely disassembling and inspecting the splice.
Q:what are the power cables on the back of a dell monitor called?
One is the power supply cable (Black one) and since its blue the second one would be a VGA cable. Hope this helps.
