Q:One end has a handle, the other has a fitting with small plastic ball in it,it is coupled at center with threaded piece. What is it
sounds like protection so not to damage the threads or out of round wall. Copper is very soft and does not take much to damage it. Sometimes to prevent contamination on refrigerant cooling copper.
Q:Just curious, when there is only a bit of toothpaste left, I have to squeeze little by little from bottom up. But then after using it, I'll have to do the same thing next time around. Obviously the toothpaste has to settle down the tube. Why and how does it do that?
The plastic material has internal stresses that retain the shape it was cast in originally. Since it is attached to a round head it tends to form a sort of flattened cone. The toothpaste moves back up the tube to fill the available space as it is a type of really thick fluid. The shape may also lead to the toothpaste moving upwards due to capillary action (similar to how water moves up a very thin straw) To combat this effect, you can buy a little squeezy thing that rolls over the tube to prevent the toothpaste from moving backwards, or you can fold/bend it over as you use it like many people do. I store mine upright on the cap so the toothpaste settles at the end I squeeze it out of. The tube also uses less counter space when you store it upright as compared to laid over on its side.
Q:
Yes, plastic tubes come in different colors.
Q:Glass surfaces are negatively charged, and when blood is collected in a clean glass test tube, it clots. Explain this observation.
it doesnt matter if it's glass or plastic. Once exposed to air (oxygen) the blood will clot unless it's been treated with an anticoagulant like EDTA, heparin, or sodium citrate. That's why these test tubes have anti coagulant in them. The tubes themselves can be glass or plastic, it doesn't matter. No anti-coagulant = clot anti-coagulant = no clot.
Q:when u have laproscopic surgery do they stick a tube down your throat. if so what does it help do.?
Laparoscopic surgery, also called minimally invasive surgery (MIS), bandaid surgery, keyhole surgery, or pinhole surgery is a modern surgical technique in which operations in the abdomen are performed through small incisions (usually 0.5-1.5cm) as compared to larger incisions needed in traditional surgical procedures. .Laparoscopic surgery also referred to as minimally invasive surgery describes the performance of surgical procedures with the assistance of a video camera and several thin instruments. During the surgical procedure, small incisions of up to half an inch are made and plastic tubes called ports are placed through these incisions. The camera and the instruments are then introduced through the ports which allow access to the inside of the patient. The camera transmits an image of the organs inside the abdomen onto a television monitor. The surgeon is not able to see directly into the patient without the traditional large incision. The video camera becomes a surgeon’s eyes in laparoscopy surgery, since the surgeon uses the image from the video camera positioned inside the patient’s body to perform the procedure Benefits of minimally invasive or laparoscopic procedures are less post operative discomfort since the incisions are much smaller quicker recovery times shorter hospital stays earlier return to full activities much smaller scars there may be less internal scarring when the procedures are performed in a minimally invasive fashion compared to standard open surgery. The ET (endotracheal tube) is usually inserted thru your throat into the trachea.which can be hooked up to a ventilator for respirations during surgery.
Q:I get loads of plastic tubes of mini eggs at easter, and they just get thrown away. What could i make out of them?
I don't think you can really do anything with them. Instead of throwing them away, just recycle them.
Q:
Yes, plastic tubes are suitable for use in the water treatment industry. They are commonly used for various applications such as conveying water, chemicals, and other fluids. Plastic tubes offer several advantages including resistance to corrosion, lightweight, and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, they are easy to install and maintain, making them a popular choice in the water treatment industry.
Q:What are the physical properties of acrylic tubes (18width, 24diameter)? What is the property difference between a tube that is extruded compared to casted? All I'm really asking is which one is stronger and how strong is it? Is it easy to drill holes in them? Is PVC stronger, and what are the properties of that?
Cast Acrylic Tubes are used in many applications in place of extruded or molded acrylic because of better machining properties, greater clarity, better resistance to heat distortion and higher tensile strength. In short: yes, cast is stronger than extruded yes, it is easy to drill holes, just take it slow It is not cut and dry which one is stronger, they are actually quite similar in certain properties such as tensile strength, flexural strength, and compressive strength. I would recommend getting a small piece of each and trying them out in your application. Just so you know, PVC is going to be cheaper than Cast acrylic at these sizes.
Q:
Plastic tubes are commonly used in the packaging industry to store and protect various types of products, such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food items. These tubes offer a convenient and hygienic packaging solution, allowing for easy dispensing and application of the product. They are often sealed with a screw-on or flip-top cap to prevent leakage and ensure product integrity. Additionally, plastic tubes can be customized with labels, logos, and other branding elements, making them an effective marketing tool for businesses.
Q:I am going to have breast lift surgery and I reaaaallllly don't want to have the drainage tubes if not necessary of course.I've seen someone women that have them and some don't.Is there any way to prevent it?
You don't always get those drain tubes when u get a lift! I think it depends on the surgery and surgeon! Have you already seen the surgeon? If so then just ask him or her! I had a lift on one side! I did not have drain tubes! the other side I have an implant and there was no drain in that side either! I was severely uneven ( A and a D cup) thats why I had the surgery....
