Q:What can I use to clean my walnut flooring?
The floor may be dull from the different products used on it. You may consider hiring a hardwood floor contractor to buff and recoat the floor. This is a very simple process that usually runs $1 per square foot and takes only about 1-2 hours to do. This will remove some surface scratches and bring back the shine for a fraction of the cost of a full sand and refinish. It involves very little mess. Then after you have the floors recoated use Bona hardwood floor cleaner. they even make a spray mop similar to the wet swiffer.
Q:Sea Floor Spreading?????
There is a ridge down the center of the pacific. You can trace it up far to the north and it makes a hard right which is something to really think about. What caused this ridge is that the pacific floor is spreading apart about four inches a year. That space becomes filled with magma from below and as it surges up from below makes this underwater mountain range. That is part of plate tectonics. The process starts when a plate is being pulled apart and an example of that would be the Rift in Africa. The next step is that area fills up with water and and example of that would be the Red Sea. The ends of the rift usually have a V formation. Put that V upside down and it is visible with the Red Sea. As long as the tectonic forces pull the plate apart, this process continues and you have the Pacific Ocean. Should the forces change, it will stop and an example of that is the lower part of the Mississippi River. . .down where it is called Ol' Man River. The upper part of the Mississippi is from water drainage. At some point the pressure on the our plate stopped and the it just turned into our drainage system in the US. Makes you go back to that underwater mountain range and make you wonder what happen that those mountains at the end of the chain are going in a different direction and how does that relate to the Mississippi. Plate tectonic are really interesting to me. Having lived in Missouri for some time. There is a line across the southern part of the state and huge sink holes open up. I asked that question in geology and everyone shrugged their shoulders. But couldn't that be the V I talked about. I had a friend with a farm down there and it's on this invisible line. They took me over to their neighbors to see this large hole. Their barn and a great deal of acreage had just disappeared down this hole. Interesting stuff. . .hope this helps.
Q:how do i level my floors?
leveling the floor can be involved but it is not very complicated . As it is a sign of something settleing in the house you can look for signs of foundation problems .You can also level the floor by sistering new joist onto the old ones or as simple as cutting tappered shims the lenght of the joist and than fasten them to the top of each joist to level it . than you can install your subfloor and be on your way . As for the problem with contractors it seems many people have some dilusional idea of what it takes to accomplish the task at hand . the real world isn't the DIY network or the home makerover show .If people realised how much those projects on tv really cost they would be amazed. and many people seem to hire the cheapest guy they can find , there is usually a reason why the contractor is much lower than anyone else , You really do get what you pay .
Q:asbestos in vinyl flooring?
if you try to peel it up and it appears to have a layer of what looks like burlap in it, its prob asbestos.
Q:What is the number of revolutions to strengthen the composite floor?
Floor speed is generally 6000-9000 turn. My home is a composite floor of the friends, I think now is a trend with the floor, natural, honest, looks elegant and innocent, the last time I bought that home is peace of mind, I study for a long time, but also to the brand site to buy I also listed some of the better composite flooring brands such as peace of mind, the Yangtze, blessing floor, Gloria, Bayer floor, Chun Chau Oude , The holy card, Bei Yake workers fool escape uncle 墚 moth scorpion valve Mang, the elephant, Xin resistant, and so on, and finally I chose to feel at ease, for many reasons.
Q:What would happen if i ate food off the floor?
Probably not much. My dog does it all the time. Humans have lots of resistance in them, and since it has been a day, I say you will be fine (except for the weight you gained eating that extra cookie!)
Q:Glue got to the ground how to get rid of
You can apply to the above China Resources efficient glue to soften the glue, and then wipe off
Q:flooring comparison based on applicaton chart?
laminate is as cheap as carpet, gives/floats if your floor is unlevel without too many problems. Sams has a good price, and it is very functional with kids and pets carpet is easy to lay in the middle of a floor, but if the edging, and doorways aren't right, it looks terrible. Also, if you do not have it stretched it will have rolls in just a couple of month. Tile is difficult to cut, can be very difficult if your floors are unlevel and is cold to the feet. I recommend a professional, but it does last the longest, and doesn't show wear and tear. That is why most mega-stores, schools, etc... are using tile now. Linoleum is easy and cheap, but it usually looks easy and cheap. Linoleum tiles are usually the easiest for diy's if you mess up, you have only lost a buck or two, and it can be managed in small sections. There are some pretty good brands out there. The house we just bought has linoleum tile that looks like green marble (I am removing it!) Real hardwoods are beautiful, expensive, need to be laid by a pro., but are worth the expense if you can afford it.
Q:What type of flooring is better in home with inside pets?
No floor is perfect. Here are some pros & cons to help you decide. There are several new carpets that guarantee against permanent pet stains. There are some with odor guard that will prevent pet odors and stains. You still need to vacuum often. Hardwood easy to clean up pet hair. Can be stained and ruined by pet urine. Will not be scratched by normal toe nails If the correct finish is used, Look for aluminum oxide. Tile is a good choice, just be sure to seal the grout. In the wood look, consider a quality laminate. Or consider a new product from Armstrong called Fashion Plank. It's water proof, very hard to scratch. Looks really like wood.
Q:squeeky floors?
I worked with a flooring company and the guy would put talcum powder between the cracks to stop them from squeaking, any fine powder works, but talcum powder is really fine apparently and gets in farthest.
