Q:Graphite or Steel Shafts for irons for a begginer?
I agree with Matt C. I owned both steel shafted and graphite shafted irons (Callaway BB 06 Graphite and Taylor Made R7 Draw Steel). My club head speed is 75 to 80 mph. I switch to steel to graphite because i gain yards at least 15 to 20 yards more. My 9 iron (graphite) is a 150 club and my 7 iron in steel shafted. So my advice is to try both and see which one is best suited for you.

Q:Are the shafts on my clubs graphite or steel....?
Most steel shafts are stepped, meaning there will be a series of ridges that run down the lengeth of the shaft every few inches. Also, take a piece of metal and tap the shaft with it. If it makes a ping type of sound, its metal. If it makes a clunk sound, its graphite. Or, look out the window and ask the first person you see walking by. Unless they are younger that 10 years old, they should be able to tell you pretty easily.

it depends on so many factors first of all is it functional damascus steel or can you see the grain? what type of carbon steel is it generally most makers use1045- 1060 a good quote of something I read was asking what steel is best for a sword is like asking how long string should be generally if they say carbon steel and do not say what grade it is they mean 1045 meaning it has 4.5 carbon content now this if properly tempered can make a good sword but it would not be known for it's durability or it's edge retention it would be average at these things as for damascus steel well as I said before it is just any steel that has been folded some people think it has magical properties imparted by the folding process but it is just steel there is slightly a higher chance of a damascus steel sword having deposits of impurities along the blade and at cheaper blades this risk is even higher that being said many good swords made of damascus on the market are very good quality any sword no matter if it is made of damascus, carbon, spring. or tool steel should be tempered always no question about that
Q:Why can aluminum and steel casings not be used for reloading?
Steel is magnetic, and can spark...Sparks are not good things around gun powder....CCI loads some pistol rounds with aluminum cases, but they are not re loadable, as the aluminum is so soft the primer pockets will wear out quickly..Aluminum, metallurgical, has a valence of +3, which means that moisture would cause electrolysis to set up between the steel primer cup and the aluminum case, which would pit the primer pocket...Steel is harder than brass, and would not uniformly expand on the firing sequence, and would be likely to rupture instead of expanding and sealing...Also, the hardness of steel would make resizing cases difficult, as steel needs to be heated before reshaping.......Hope this helps....
