Q:Steel Research?
Your okorder.com (they make steel deck and steel joists) There are thousands of other items routinely produced from steel, including rebar, and all the metal in cars, airplanes, and about a million other things.
Q:Where can I go to find out info about different blade steels online?
White steel is a common shorthand name for white paper steel (shirogami hagane) which can be any of several fairly simple high carbon, water hardening steel grades. The carbon content varies by grade, and runs from 0.8 to 1.4%. The range of carbon content within a grade is a tight 0.1%. For example, the carbon content of Shirogami Hagani No1A is specified to be between 1.3 and 1.4%. Each grade also contains 0.1-0.2% silicon and 0.2-0.3% manganese, and only trace amounts of the impurities sulfur and phosphorus. Blue paper steel (aogami hagane) is also offered in several grades, with carbon content ranging similarly to the white grades. However, blue steel contains the additional alloying elements chromium and tungsten, and one grade (aogami super) also contains molybdenum and vanadium. The blue steels can be quenched in water or oil, whereas most of the white grades need a faster quench and require water.
Q:What steel is the most magnetic?
That is a part of engineering materials, it has a mixture of materials that has a good magnetic properties when they are combined like silicon and manganese etc.
Q:What are some characteristics of steel?
Characteristics Of Steel Hardening. - The characteristic difference between steel and pure wrought iron is as follows: - When steel is raised to a red heat and then suddenly cooled, it becomes hard and brittle. This process, which is known as hardening, has no effect upon pure wrought iron. Tempering is a characteristic of steel which distinguishes it from cast iron. If steel has been hardened by being heated and suddenly cooled, as above described, it may be softened again by applying a lower degree of heat and again cooling. This is known as tempering. Cast iron, on the contrary, though it is hardened by the first process, cannot be softened by the second. When a bar of steel is struck it gives out a sharp metallic ring, quite different from the sound produced by striking wrought iron. Other characteristics of steel are its great elasticity and its retention of magnetism.
Q:buying Stainless Steel refrigerator?
it is indeed in style.. but they're very hard to keep clean. take it from me. i have one. and if you even toush it with your finger. there's a smudge or mark. you have to constantly keep cleaning it. but it's no different that having a regular new refrigerator. they're just more stylish. but overall you should get the stainless steal one. just keep up with it. lol. hope it helped.
Q:is combat steel the same as a carbon steel blade.?
as has been said before it is a mystery steel that could mean anything honestly I am guessing closer to 1045 than the already mentioned 1095.... or just stainless steel of some variety tldr we all are telling the truth do not buy it
Q:Steel Strings or Nylons?
I love steel strings on MY guitar because the brand of strings and the type of guitar I have makes the strings softer on my fingers than other people's Steel Stringed guitars. Nylon sounds weird to me.
Q:i need help about stainless steel?
Weathering steel will rust, but the rust will be adherant and not flake off and be replaced by new rust. Therefore once it rusts it will pretty much stop rusting any more. One (severe) down side is that anything around it will be streaked with rust stains and it will look awful. Some bozo with the Texas Department of Transportation designed a number of freeway interchange overpasses here in Houston using Cor-Ten steel and all of the concrete supports are streaked with red rust stains and it looks like hell. Cameron built an office building here in Houston with a Cor-Ten facade and it is streaked with rust too. They should have gone ahead and spent the money and painted them, but they didn't.
Q:Steel structures....!!?
steel structure- TC bolt to connect,SG shear wrench
Q:Can you WELD STEEL to ALUMINUM? How much heavier/stronger is STEEL?
Note: the easiest way to join steel to aluminum is to drill holes and BOLT them together...... You cannot WELD steel to aluminum.(except using extreme methods like explosion welding......) For all intents and purposes they are dissimilar metals, meaning they will not bond to each other. Also, aluminum has a much lower melting point than steel. It is possible to join steel and aluminum by *Soldering,* using tin/zinc hard solder. This requires a special flux designed exclusively for soldering aluminum though. The heating process is also a bit delicate as you must avoid overheating the joint. I work as a welder and I've only soldered Al three or four times. Steel is easiest to weld by far. If you set the equipment correctly, a six year-old kid can make a good weld on steel. Aluminum requires special equipment and procedures to weld. It's not easy. The brittleness of aluminum depends on it's alloy content. Most of the aluminum that's used today is not pure, rather it's in the form of aluminum ALLOYS which contain either zinc, magnesium, silicon, or manganese. these elements increase the strength dramatically, but also make it much less ductile. Commercially pure (CP) aluminum is very ductile, but it's also rather weak. Pure aluminum is used to make aluminum foil, as it's so soft and ductile it can easily be rolled paper-thin. The best aluminum alloys can come near in strength to mild steel, but weigh less than half as much as steel. Note that steel itself is an alloy of iron and carbon, Carbon increases the strength of iron in the same way that zinc or magnesium increase aluminum's strength. Most of the commonly used aluminum alloys are somewhat more brittle than mild steel, but not greatly so.
