Q:Pros and cons of stainless steel firearms?
This Site Might Help You. RE: Pros and cons of stainless steel firearms? What are the pros with stainless steel? You don't have to oil them as much or you don't have to oil them at all? Is the rifling in the barrel typically stainless steel as well? if so, is this better accuracy or does the rifling last longer then conventional? are they worth the extra...
Q:Stainless steel or aluminum for campfire cooking?
I added a few more pieces. Love the glass lids. I have a couple pieces of Le Creuset, but it is too heavy even before the food goes in and I don't like dealing with it. I regret buying the Le Creuset now---should have just bought the Lodge Enameled Cast Iron stuff for about a fourth of the cost. I do have a Lodge 5 qt. dutch oven that I use to deep fry and it is a nice piece and easy to clean. The LC dutch oven does a nice job when I want stew-type recipes.
Q:Heat transfer through steel?
yes it is very possible. as what our teacher in physics said that steel is a good conductor of heat..
Q:Stainless Steel Used In Knifes?
If your talking about a folding pocket knife, I think that it's basically six one way and a half dozen the other. I actually do prefer stainless for my pocket knives. I don't want to oil a knife to the degree I feel carbon requires, only to then stick it my pocket to attract dirt to the knife and oil to my pants. I'm the exact opposite on sheath knives though. I like 1095 carbon steel, plain edge sheath knives. I'll thrash on them HARD, and I rarely have major edge problems. Of course, I require them to be coated with some kind of powder coat or the like, because they can rust, but I do try and keep them clean and dry when in the sheath, so they won't pit the uncoated edge. My reasons for this sheath knife preference is multi-fold. First, these knives are simply affordable. I don't spend $80 dollars on a outdoors sheath knife. I use the tool too hard to want to spend more. I don't like the more traditional stainless steels such as AUS-8, 420HC, and 440C (not to mention the HORRENDOUS 440A) because I feel that the all else being equal, a stainless blade will bend before a carbon blade will break. I also think that carbon holds an edge at least as well, if not better, than traditional stainless, and it's much easier to hone. I don't know much about these new laminates, other than the very hard, but not so tough. They seem to be POSSIBLY too brittle for my use. That, combined with the fact that they cost a FORTUNE, means that I just won't be considering them.
Q:Are there steel bullets?
I personally know of no steel bullets. In order to be soft enough to engage the rifling in the barrel, it would have to have a jacket at least the thickness of the groove depth. Separate loading(those which a projectile is loaded followed with various sized powder charges) howitzer projectiles are cast steel with copper driving bands set in grooves to engage the rifling.
Q:Can cold rolled galvanized steel coils be acid washed after oxidation?
Rolling at room temperature is generally understood as cold rolling, from a metallurgical point of view, below the rolling temperature at which the roll is rolled
Q:Edward Humphrey wants to know... Can I use steel roofing on an older house?
We are having a metal roof installed on our rental property. We were told by a number of contractors that metal roofing is comparable in price to an asphalt roof. It is all a matter of personal preference. Metal roofing will last for upwards of 50 years, where an asphalt roof, if good quality, will last about 30 years. I personally believe that some house styles just would not look proper or authentic with a metal roof. Hope this helps.
Q:How to sharpen a steel strip?
The okorder.com/
Q:What type of metal is T10 tool steel?
Carbon Tool Steel usually in the form of forged bar stock. Steel Grades for tool steel can be any of the following (depending on the application) T10/1.1645 SK3/SK4/W1A-91/2/ TC105/y10/1880/BW1B T10A/1.1545/y10A/1880 Standards are published by: DIN, JIS, ASTM, AISI, BS, SS, ISO, TOCT, GB Doug
