But when I started really racing, I noticed that practicing without shoes on versus with shoes made a difference in traction and her ability to perform. I used special shoes (rim shoes) that provide additional traction because we often ran in not-so-perfect arenas. But really, the traction was my only reason for shoes. I also currently lesson at a hunter/jumper barn. Only a few horses are shod. Their reasoning is based upon if the horse needs it for soundness issues. If not, they can still jump well without them, but with very good farrier work! Finally, I show pleasure horses (paints), and they all go barefoot. I do natural trimming which includes rounding the toe and a little more work for the farrier, but I have had no problems with my 3 show horses chipping or with soundness issues. Also, they are not supplemented for their hooves. I switched to barefoot because it seemed more natural. This is how the hoof was made to be! And because I have had fantastic results in doing so, I plan to keep them this way. Granted, I'm not saying that all horses should go barefoot, but for my needs and my horses needs, it is the way I plan on going from now on.

If it is a PVC or CPVC or copper pipe, doesn't matter. Forget that glue and forget the soddering, you don't need to do any of that. Turn off the main water switch, open the lines and let the water drain then you cut out the part that is broken from the pipe. Home depot sells a product called SharkBite. It is literarly a connector for pipes with snap on fittings. Measure the pipe and get a SharkBite - 1/2 inch or 1 pipe or 2 inch pipe, just measure the pipe, ok? Position the SB onto the pipe, (make sure you snap it in really well until it pops) and turn the water back on. That's it. The guys at HD can tell you which one to get.

Q:I have a heat detector and alarm (: A street elbow is a type of plumbing or piping fitting intended to join a piece of pipe and another fitting at an angle. The difference between a street elbow and a regular elbow is the nature of the fittings on either end. A regular elbow has hub or FIP on both ends. A hub is a female ABS, PVC or copper pipe receiver; FIP denotes Female Iron Pipe threads, that is, it receives threaded MIP iron, brass or plastic pipe on both ends. Any suggestions?: Lighting usually strikes taller buildings but that is not always the case. Lighting is an electrical discharge of very large proportions as such it will seek the fastest way to neutralize itself. Go to Ground When it travels through a wood structure to do this it can and probably will start a fire, because of the amount of heat and friction caused by the discharge. A lighting rod when properly installed attacks the lighting to it and through it to ground this prevents the lighting from causing damage to the house by giving it a faster and easier route to travel to ground. So yes a properly installed lighting rod could prevent the problem even though the chance of a lighting strike is higher do to the rod, however if the rod is not properly installed it could increase the chances of the house getting hit by lighting and increase the amount of damage done to it.

Q:personal protective equipments in the field?: As others have said, if it's large (maybe larger than your fist), it would be best to get a sizeable piece of sheetrock. If it's smaller than that, use joint compound. Don't use spackle as it will tend to dry and eventually will most likely leave cracks weeks or months down the road. Get a wide putty knife (at least 3) to spread the joint compound. Just buy the prepared compound and skip the powder + water stuff. Get a decent brand and you may want to look at picking up a few sheet rock screws if you need a large piece so you can hopefully hit a nearby stud in the wall. One point here is that you want to sink the screw at just the right depth. Too far will start to crush the sheet rock and take more compound to smooth over. Too shallow will leave the screw head showing. I have a Dremel and the sheetrock cutting tool bit makes nice smooth cuts but if you take your time, you may be able to use a sheetrock hand saw to make a good opening. Take your time and be sure to use a replacement piece a bit larger than the opening. You can always shave off material from the replacement piece. You can dry sand (at least 200 grit sandpaper) or wet sand. I prefer dry sanding but that's your call. You'll most likely need to compound the dips two or three times if you want it very smooth. It's not easy to make it perfectly smooth but the wider the knife, the slightly easier it'll be. There are lots of do it yourself sites and they will explain better how to do it step by step. Take your time and don't feel rushed. The second link has a little trick if it's an in between sized hole but how cheesey you want to get is up to you.
