Can I just add 4 gauge wire along with my stock wire instead of the 1 gauge kit? What are the fuses for and which one would work better? I know nothing about this. Thanks.

I would go with the 1 ga wire. The fuse keeps the wire from setting your car on fire. The size of the alternator does not matter. The battery should supply 700 amps or so.

Q:My laptop cable sometimes won't stay in all the time. When it is connected, it has a blue circle around it, but sometimes that blue circle goes off (while it is plugged into the side of laptop) and the tool bar changes from showing a plug to showing a battery. Q:I recently bought a new internal hard drive for my computer (Hitachi Hds721010cla332, a upgraded version of what I currently have). When trying to install it I found out that the power socket isnt the same as my current hard drive. Q:At the end of every work day I shut it down in the normal way (through the Start Menu) and then every morning I return to it and it won't turn on no matter how many times I press the on button or if I hold it down.The only way I can get the computer to turn back on is to remove the power cable for 10 minutes and then put it back in and hold the on button for about 10 seconds. This sounds like a bad shutdown. Are you sure it's shutting down and not hibernating or sleeping? As it's new, you should call Dell, but you can try this. Close all your programs and shut it down by holding the power button in until it's off (Just 5-6 seconds.) See if it starts up after that. Edit:What happens if you try shutting down with the On/Off switch?

Bad wiring in the house? Sounds at least like a situation like that. Not uncommon in buildings of certain times.. older types of wiring used. And worse not ready for todays amount of electronics. So yeah check the wiring. In between time buy a few extension boxes, you know the type with more then 1 electronic socket. But most important a switch. That way you can switch it off and that way such discharges won't happen any more.

I use a knife to strip that wire, just be careful not to nick the wire. Drill a hole and use sheet metal screws to screw the fuse holder down.
