- American Olean, Summitville and I m sure there other makers make a cove tile meant to be used of flooring corners between the wall tile and floor tile. You can see them in commercial applications allot. I don t see why you cant adopt the same concept to walls. There is also a base tile used for showers called an A 3401 that you could use in the same way. There is a whole color range in in 4x4 and 6x6 tiles. These are nice but basic tiles . - Check out Home Depot or Lowes.............personal opinion - don't use carpet at all - it holds in so much dirt, dust, mites, smells, etc. Terrible for anyone with allergies. Just my opinion. The only place that has carpet in our house is the stairs and hallway...........put laminate wood flooring in the bedrooms and tile everywhere else. You can buy throw rugs that can be cleaned easier than carpeting. Best of luck!! ?

- With all due respect and not knowing at all your DESIGN, certainly I have suugestions. After installing thousands of sq. ft of tile, and various other flooring I ask that you e mail me. The tile installed may be at some similar level to the tile but needs transition molding, and again without knowing the design; is to to be a DECO thing or a simple carpet butted to tile as in half a space? The installation process isn't so difficult even for a DY, but there are things to consider, I offer all the help, through my experience, I can offer in emailing me... even if I'm not BEST. - Most of the stores like Home Depot and Lowes actually have classes to show you how to do this sort of thing. They will even show you how to use the tools. Remember it is going to tie up your shower for a weekend at least, so make arrangements with a friend to use their shower !It's a hellofa job but when it's done you feel awesome! The removal and prep is a lot harder than the repacement. Very messy so make sure you have a good shop vacuum handy and those little face masks too. You are gonna love this.
- Q:I used acetone on my tile to get up some hair dye and it stained the tile white where the acetone was. i know now that i probably shouldn‘t have done this so please just answer question. How do i fix it?
- Without knowing what kind of tile you're talking about, it's hard to give an accurate answer. Because your tile was blemished by the acetone, I assume it is a matte finish tile, which will absorb moisture. You will probably have to replace the tile. First, go to a tile or flooring store, explain what you did and what happened and see what they recommend. As for fixing the tile, if you haven't removed old grout, fractured and removed a tile, cleaned out old thinset, laid new thinset, the tile, and grouted, I suggest you leave this to a professional.
- Q:ok, I am grouting my ceramic tile in my kitchen and I sponged the tile when I was done and waited for everything to dry. I buffed the dry grout off of the tiles and I noticed that there is dry grout on the tiles and I can‘t get it off. Is there anything I can buy to take the grout off of the face of the tiles before I seal them? Please help.

- Yes you most definitely can if the tile is down solid and is clean from grease and dirt etc.... You ll need to check exterior doors to make sure they ll open..A special modified thin set is strongly recommended and allow a minimum of 2 days (long if possible) before any foot traffic goes on the tile.This because there is no where for the thin set moisture to go and you don t want to break the bond.. No special prep work is needed aside from thoroughly cleaning the tile and grout. Don t set grout joint over grout joint if you have the same size tile..
