Q:Bathroom needs floor tile.?
Yes you ll have to pull the stool up and depending on what you sub flooring is now will depend how you treat the stool and wax ring and flange later. There isn t a stock answer with the info you gave. Some times the flange is raised enough to accommodate raising the floor with tile and a 1/2 cement board( if needed). If the flooring is on a slab them the tile will go right up to the flange and stool set atop with a normal or extra thick ring. In 20+ years I ve never had a tile crack under a stool. As long as there is the correct amount of thin set under the tile and any subflooring you add is properly put down,it ll be fine. Stools don t have to be tight tight bolted down just firmly snugged up . Almost ( almost ) any tile will work in a bathroom situation , but get a slip resistant type, one with at least a class III rating is my recommendation Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q:can u lay household tiles outdoors?
You can, but you'll probably regret it after the first rainfall ruins them.
Q:Tiles broken, how do?
The original tile broken and then the bottom of the cement chisel and then covered with cement paste with the color of the floor tile
Q:Bathroom Tile color opinion.?
The white subway tiles will make the room look larger and longer than the darker beige tile. The white tile is timeless and any accent colors will work. Stay with white plumbing fixtures also for the same reason. The accent mirror border should be high. This border will also make the room appear larger. A mirrored border near the faucet and mirror will not be as effective and will be hard to keep clean.
Q:Is there asbestos in tile?
Old tile can have asbestos. The ONLY way to know is to take a piece of each with glue/mastic on the back to a local lab to have it tested. You can not determine absolutely or not if asbestos is present by size, color, or texture. If he has already thrown it away, all you can do is wet clean the entire area and move on. If you can afford it, hiring an asbestos removal company to do it would be better or hire an asbestos consultant to checkk the area.
Q:What is transparent tiles
(The market also known as tiles, polished tiles, etc.) is the rock debris by pressing high pressure, the surface after grinding hardness compared with the stone, water absorption is lower, good wear resistance. The surface of the whole body is not glazed, and the front and the back of the material and color consistent, hence the name. Although there are seepage of the whole body bricks and other varieties, but relatively speaking, its color than glazed tiles. Most of the anti-skid brick are all bricks. If you have more questions, you can click on ID consultation.
Q:Drilling through tile...?
you got to get the screws in wall studs or they will just fail as soon as any weight is put on the bars. drilling thru a ceramic wall tile --- that part is easy.
Q:How to look at tile quality?
First listen to the sound the more brittle the better, followed by the water to see, the bubble the smaller the better.
Q:how to measure and install ceramic tile counter tops and back splash?
unsure the nature of your request! if it is working out quantity of tiles take the square meterage of area to be covered then divide it by the calculations given on the tile boxes, if you can be more specific i will try and offer more help regards steve
Q:Should my new tile floor be installed under the refrigerator?
Well, please take my advice as I used to work at a popular Australian tile franchise. Number one - make sure the porcelain you are laying is pre-sealed, as porcelain is a natural stone and is 'porous', so harsh staining can will occur if they are not sealed. If they are just 'Glazed Porcelain' tiles, they don't need to be 'sealed' as they are on a ceramic biscuit and just have a glazed protective coating, which are quite 'hardwearing'. In which they are 'ceramic'. Number two - YES!! you must fully take out all fixtures to lay in the bathroom and kitchen, tiles will almost usually be there many years more than a vanity or a fridge. If you replace your kitchen cabinetry, well all floor space should be tiled. Many people run into problems of the 'previous owner' not doing the job properly, and down the track they wan't the same tile.....well the life of a tile is around 4 years then they become extinct., even if you can get the same tile, it will not be of the same batch/shade. Trying to fix up half-hearted jobs isn't as easy as some people think!!! So please tile ALL floor area and order enough so you have a couple of spare boxes left over, for future repairs. Because you will never get that same tile batch/shade ever again!! You'll also make it easier for the next person who lives there. Also, if you find out that if it is true polished porcelain and there not pre-sealed, buy a 'reputable' tile sealer and seal them before laying. As when you grout the tile (if there not sealed) you will create a grout haze around all your joints and will be a nightmare to remove and your lovely porcelain won't look so 'lovely'!! HAVE FUN......
