Q:i am going to establish a new power cable manufacturing business. i want to ask you what should i name to my business or what brand name should i adopt that is appopriate.
follow the suggestions. Good Luck
Q:i am hooking up my system tomorow and im really not sure where to drill a hole in the firewall to run my 4 AWG cable any suggestions any pictures would be helpful thanks!
Check first for any factory made holes that are not in use or have extra space to be used. If you are explorer is anything like my Taurus I would say somewhere near where your steering wheel connects to the firewall. But it will be kinda risky around that area since you would have to be careful for your power steering.
Q:I need to run power cables from 4 fans on my stacker 830 around the edges of the case and into the power supply for cable management purposes. The fans I currently have, have power cables that are around only 10 inches long. Any ideas?
Can you solder? If so, just clip the wires then splice on extensions. Add heat-shrink material, solder connections, shrink the material and you're good to go.
Q:Two weeks ago, my 1 yr 19 lcd monitor began to flicker? Why? The power cord and usb cable are secure?
I've had a similar thing happen with my 17 GEM monitor. Eventually, I relocated the monitor and redid all the wiring and the flickering ultimately stopped. I'd wager it's a wire issue.
Q:what cables do i need (besides a power cable) to start playing?
If you have a HDTV, get an HDMI cable. If you have a SDTV, get Component Cables if your TV supports it, but if your TV doesn't support Component Cables, get the standard A/V Composite Cables. And make sure that you get a Mini B USB cord because without it, you wont be able to charge the PS3 controller.
Q:is it possible to split the live wire feeding my car stereo into 3 feeds so one is my stereo , two is my satnav power cable and the 3rd is my reversing sensor display. will this overload the wires? any advice how i can do this would be most helpful. thanks
I'm assuming you mean the wire providing the 12-volt power to your radio? And you want to connect other unit's it? It all depends on how much current is drawn by the additional units. Do they have fuses? What sizes are they? Backup cameras usually draw very little current and have really thin wires. Shouldn't be a problem. What type of navigation device? Does it use a DVD-ROM or is it just on a chip, like a portable Tom Tom, Garvin, etc.? If neither of the units' fuses exceed 5 amps, I'd say you're safe (in most cars) running it from the radio's power wire. However, you didn't state the type of car. Late-model GM cars or Audi/Volkswagen have low-current radio wires that use computers. They are known as data bus or can bus systems. I'd avoid connecting to these.
Q:The Power cable of my guitar amp (roland cube 20x) was under my computer chair leg and when i sat down the fuse triped in the power box then when i checked under me the cable was almost cut across.. How can i fix this or where would i get it fixed?
Hahaha, that is THE most basic DIY ever. Ok go to you local hardware store and get maybe 4 foot of similar wiring, look around for what you want, get home, open up the back of your roland, find where the chord was wired, should be either soldered or clamped, undo these and attach the new wiring, if your cheap you could just take the plug head of the original cable and attach it to where the cable broke, and you'll just have a shortened power cable.
Q:Hi, just moved to Finland from US. Will my x box 360 works with a new powell cable? Or do I need something else besides that. And where should I get it from in Turku or Helsinki. Thank you!
You could probably buy an adapter plug for your existing cable. Getting a whole new cable might very well mess with the machine itself, and be more expensive than a simple adapter. Just go to an electronics’ store, with the cable, (the bigger the better) and ask for a suitable adapter for it.
Q:Hey.I just took out the power cable on my ps3, but then my light was gone in the same moment? How could that be :-D?
Bad wiring in the house? Sounds at least like a situation like that. Not uncommon in buildings of certain times.. older types of wiring used. And worse not ready for todays amount of electronics. So yeah check the wiring. In between time buy a few extension boxes, you know the type with more then 1 electronic socket. But most important a switch. That way you can switch it off and that way such discharges won't happen any more.
Q:A power cable of copper is stretched straight between two fixed towers. If the temperature decreases, the cable tends to contract; the amount of contraction for a free copper cable is 0.0017% per degree celsius. Show that the stretched cable will snap if its temperature decreases by 128°C.Ignore the weight of the cable and assume Hooke's law is obeyed until the cable breaks. Young's modulus for copper is 11.0 x 10^10 N/m^2 and the ultimate tensile strength of copper is 2.4 x 10^8 N/m^2.
Change in length=(coefficient of expansion)(original length)(change T)= (.0017)(chose your favoret length, I chose 100)( -128 because T is decreeing)=-21.76 Strain = (change in length)/(original length)= 21.76/100= .2176Pa (for simplicity's sake I dropped the negative, rember the wire is in tension) Stress = (youngs modulus)(strain)= (11?10^10)(.2176)= 2.3936?10^10 Pa The UTS (2.4?10^8)<(2.39?10^10) so there is definitely necking and because of the difference most likely there was failure long ago.
