Q:What's the living room carpet for?
Safety: walking on the carpet, children easily wrestling, while the tea table is usually rectangular glass, and the edge of the corner is relatively sharp, carpet, prevent children fall, knock on the tea table injury;
Q:They prefer dry food to wet. I am feeding them IAMS kitten food....I have washed the throw rugs but what is best to use on the carpet and how do i keep them from peeing again? They were just at the Animal Coaltion in June...and were pronounced healthy....
Wash the throw rugs in a normal wash with a cup of white vinegar, followed by a regular washing. As for the carpet underneath, I have given a link that gives you several alternatives, all cheap and easy and fast. If the odors are not totally eliminated, they will return there over and over. In the event there is a litter box issue, I have provided a second link. I would also suggest you get them a fountain to encourage water drinking, even through that is not high right now on your agenda. And, just mentioning IAMS will draw out some strong haters of IAMS, but I don't see anything wrong with it, provided plentiful water is available.
Q:How to clean up the rubbish in the long haired carpet
To turn over and use a stick to hit firmly, repeatedly beating for about two minutes, and then use the broom to sweep, finally use the vacuum cleaner, if it is not clean, then repeat again
Q:I have a espresso colored round table (i think its about 4' or 5' diameter) and it also incleds a leaf to extend the table into an oval shape. I am trying to decide what kind of rug i should get for underneath the table (there is ceramic tile in this area). Its going into the formal living and dining room in the house which is the first you room you enter when you come into the house. The entire room is about 13' wide by 22' long. There will also be a buffet by the table taking off about 2' or so from the width. This is what i was thinking1. getting a big square rug (about 8x8)2. getting a rectangle rug (either 5'x8' or 8'x11')Let me know if you have any other ideas. Thanks for your input!
The rug has to be large enough when someone is seated in a chair at the table, the chair is still on the rug. You usually figure 1 ft. extra all the way around. Home Decorators online has a huge choice of rugs and sizes and styles.
Q:I'm wanting to redo the interior of my car black but they didn't make any stock with black so I can't just buy a carpet mold. Does anyone know where I could get one made? Or even if there's a way I could make one...
Yes, you can make car carpeting. Just go to any carpet store and buy any carpet you want. You could even carpet your car with shag, if that's what you like (although it will be a lot harder to keep clean than indoor-outdoor carpeting). Use your existing carpet as a template. When you remove the carpet, try to keep it as whole as possible and then just lay it on top of the new carpet for a template. You might have to use books or some other weight to flatten the template, because it's bound to be bumpy after being formed to your car for so long. Then just tape the new carpet in place using carpet tape -- or use glue that's made to adhere to metal. Your car can have any kind of carpet you like. Personally, I would stick with carpets that are easy to keep clean (short-fibered carpets made of nylon), but honestly this is your choice.
Q:I heard that if someone spilled paint on their rugs their insurance will pay for new rugs minus deductable. DId you ever hear of this?
An accidental spillage of paint or any other substance is normally covered under most homeowner policies when the spill damages the dwelling. This is a fortuitous event and not specifically excluded under most policies. If by 'rug' you mean a true rug and not wall to wall carpeting then most policies would not cover such an occurance as most policies are named peril for personal property including rugs. I've handled claims in many states and can't recall a policy that specifically states spillage of paint as a covered peril. As for the cleaning, as a former Insurance adjustor unless the cleaning is performed immediately and by a professional using a truck mounted extractor the paint would not be totally removed. Now it is true that your deductible would apply in this instance but there would also be a percentage of depreciation applied to your loss and in most cases the depreciation is not refundable even with the 'Replacement cost endorsement'.
Q:I am painting my room a pale orange, and it has bright yellow accents. What color rug would look really good? I can't do white because it would look too dirty. Thanks!
Hi Claire, In choosing a Rug which lasts approx 10 years or more I would suggest that in this case you choose a neutral color. I realize many may think that Tan, Taupe or Light Gray. are a safe choice and so basic. But with that said Carpeting can expensive. Changing the Wall Paint is far more cost effective. In the future, you may decide to use another wall color paint in the room. Tan, Taupe or Light Grey would be my thoughts for you ! * All of the above mentioned colors come in a variety of many shades. I also suggest taking a Paint chip with you to the store for comparisons if you are concerned. Tan/Taupe will provide an earthy color to the room, while Gray colors are visually cool color. Happy Decorating !
Q:Does a rug doctor perform well on your carpet?
I don't know yet i want to rent one too
