No. A horse prefers the rain above the sun. Our horse can walk in and out there stables if they want. It's a nice temperature in there. (its made with isolation between the plates). And they will stand outside in the rain, even when there is a storm. But as soon there is a Little bit of sun and there are flies they stand in the stable. Underneath a blanket they heating up their temperature for getting rid of the rain on their back. But the Warmth can't escape completely, and the water can't go away, cause above it's water prove so it can't go trough it. So putting a blanket on when they are already wet in the rain, with a temperature of this will make them only sick. and if it gets to bad, than you can put them inside in the stable. But Absolutely NO blanket cause they start to sweat for getting the water of them (imagine you being wet. And then putting a vest on, it won't be nice for you, and eventually you will sweat also...)

It might cost more than the Bissell or Hoover but thats because it works better and lasts longer. I've borrowed my parents brand new Bissell and it doesn't clean anywhere near as well as the Rug Doctor rentals. I have 2 jack russell's so I need to clean up stains frequently. The refurbished machines on the rugdoctor site are blue, not red so they are not pulled from the rental stores. They're probably returns or overstock from Costco or WalMart so I would trust them to be reliable and not used much. They don't cost much more than a Bissel or Hoover so I think its worth it to buy the highest quality machine. Even if its a hundred bucks more, it will last forever where most other machines seem to break after 2 years. The refurbished machines also have a 5 year warranty just like the brand new Rug Doctors. Buying a refurbished machine is probably a great way to save some cash on a machine that usually runs $500-600 and I trust the brand all day long.

There's no such thing. You either get fur stuck to the rugs, or you get large dust bunnies of dog fur in the corners if you have a hard floor.

Never a double sided tape, it will leave a residue and attract dirt. The use of a pad as some say is the right way to go. Its actually a very thin mat that goes under the rug. It has a tacky feeling but leaves no residue. There are a couple different types for your rugs. Some are made for rugs over hard wood ( allows the wood to breathe ). Some for rug over carpet and some for rugs over a hard surface. These don t react with a vinyl and stain the vinyl. After a few months, depending on your foot traffic, they lose there tackiness because they naturally collect dirt. They are washable and return to their natural state and work again. If you sprinkle the stained area with cooking salt (put heaps on) and leave the stain overnight, then the salt absorbs the wine and in the morning vaccum the salt up. If there is still a stain I would then suggest cleaning it with warm soapy water and really get into it with a old cloth soaping it up well, then dry off with an old towl blotting it, then allow the area to dry.

Carpet tiles over full carpet. The carpet in my childhood bedroom has silly putty stuck in it, marker stains, nailpolish stains, paint spills, you name it. Carpet tiles are good for young kids because you can REPLACE them. Accidents happen, kids are messy and getting someone to clean your carpet is expensive. This also gives you the option to change the flooring when your daughter gets older if she wants something different. Picking up carpet tiles is cheaper then hiring someone to take out old carpet and install new.

If the carpet is a neutral color, like beige, it might look ok. I have never done this myself, but give it a try and see how it looks.
