Q:My roommate and I were cleaning carpets in our 1st floor apartment yesterday with a carpet spray called RESOLVE. We bought it at Target and tied it on the carpets but it didn't work well. Then my roommate tried to clean the carpet by water. He dumped the bucket of water and tried to dry it with a sponge. Obviously, it didn't work and the carpet is still wet. We were going to call a cleaning company but we are still trying to figure out how to dry them by ourselves. How bad is that if we just leave it and wait until the carpets dry? It's not flooded but it feels wet. I appreciate it if someone could help me.
Open the windows and run fans on the carpet so it will dry and not have a moldy smell. If you want to clean the carpet rent a steam cleaner.
Q:Okay so for the past few years I've been making latch hook rugs. They take up too much space and I was wondering if there is a way to sell these? I don't really have people to sell them to, and I was wondering how one would go about getting rid of these projects while not throwing away all your cash. I am afraid to sell them on OKorder because someone might accidentally be deceived and think that it was an unfinished latch hook kit, and be surprised to find a completely finished rug at their doorstep. Any suggestions?
There okorder is another site where people sell completed handcrafts. If you have consignment shops in your area, they may be willing to sell the rugs for you. I have some that I've hung on the wall as art, and I have also used some as tops for chair cushions or throw pillows. Unfortunately, though, in general this is one of the class of craft projects where the unused kit often sells for more than the completed item. If selling doesn't work out, you may wish to restrict yourself to rug projects where you have a specific use or recipient in mind, or else put some of your energy into a less expensive craft like friendship bracelets, for instance. Good luck!
Q:I bought a 2 pelt sheepskin rug awhile back and one of my clumsy friends drop tomato sauce on it, what can I use to clean it?
Has Good instructions and they sell real sheepskins direct form the tanners so they know.
Q:He has wrecked most of his toys but loves to chew my old living room rug . Please answer x
He does not know the difference between your old rug and your posh carpets. If you allow him to chew an old rug, he will chew your carpets. Instead give him raw carrots to chew and RAW meaty bones from the butchers. He is old enough to be taken for reasonably long walks. Hopefully he is not left alone during the day, if you do this he will be bored, miserable and lonely and he will chew anything to ease his boredom
Q:I have new carpet in my apartment. When I try to vacuum, it clogs my vacuum. Should I get a better vacuum or not vacuum at all?
Your new carpet is doing a natural thing .. It s called pilling and fuzzing. Very common in staple type carpet. Most carpets are staple products. It will stop shortly unless there a defect in the carpet ( rare but it happens) Defiantly keep vacuuming. It s the best thing for carpets. Manufactures actually say to vacuum every day( YEAH LIKE THATS GOING TO HAPPEN LOL) GL
Q:I have a nasty old carpet and I don't want to replace it until I decide to get ceramic tiles or fiber glass vinyle. I went to Ikea and bought large area rugs. They move when we walk on them and they wrinkle. I used doubled sided tape, it didn't work. Can I use Gorilla glue? should I spray water first before using the glue?should I use super glue? I own the place, so it is ok to glue rugs to the carpet.
Get a RUG GRIP made for a RUG TO CARPET application. Get the best one you can afford. They are sold everywhere - WalMart, Target, Home Depot, Lowe's. Double sided tape doesn't work with carpet. DO NOT USE ANY GLUE. It will give off noxious fumes may cause respiratory issues. When you get a hard surface floor, you'll need a RUG TO HARD SURFACE FLOOR RUG GRIP.
Q:How are residential and commercial carpets differ from each other?
As well as being made of a lesser fiber blend the carpet is often treated with fire retardant and pesticides before installation, dyes are also different, matching a commercial carpet color to a residential retailer will mean a compromise.
Q:We have carpet in our kitchen, that's right CARPET! We want the carpet out and purchased some vinyl flooring to replace it. However we just found out that the carpet is GLUED down and therefore a much bigger project to remove it than we once thought. So, we were wondering if the vinyl can be installed on top of the carpet. Like I said the carpet is glued down and it is very low and smooth there is very little give to it when you walk on it.
This Site Might Help You. RE: Can you install Vinyl Flooring over low carpet? We have carpet in our kitchen, that's right CARPET! Q:I'm going to remove laminate that's already on it, I was wondering, before installing this carpet, I'm going to have Luna do it since they install it for free.Do I need anything under the carpet/on the floor before they install the carpet?(I heard people put wood or baseboard or something under the carpet, then like some soft pads or something. Anyone have more information?)I really want to get this done right for my home office, thanks.
I don't know much, but I would install some sort of padding under the carpet - the floor people should do it with the installation of the carpet (if you purchase it from them). The company you purchase the carpet from should also know this. Good luck! PS - get a thickness of padding that goes with your carpet - plush carpet may need less padding. One thing things to consider - Is there enough height under my door to fit carpet and padding? (Or will I have to cut the door down?) Also, if you don't have a thin and hard carpet, then you will have to get a plastic-floor thing to roll your chair on (if you have a rolling char).
Q:Its been about 24 hours since we cleaned the carpet ourselves with a rented machine but the carpet is still wet in places. Should we give it more time? Its cool in the basement, but hot and humid outside. I'm guessing opening windows is not a good idea?
not a good idea to open the wondow
