try rinsing after cleaning. Use clear water. The soap left a residue so the carpet got dirtier faster.

You need to clean the area with an enzyme cleaner! I washed and washed my lounge where my cat peed and couldnt get the smell out (i really felt like crying it was so embarassing). I went and bought an enzyme cleaner from a pet store and used it every second day for a week...and the smell is gone. It also stops the cat going back to the same spot to urinate. The enzyme helps break up what is in the cat pee and kills the smell!! Good Luck!

Q:My cat likes to back her rear end up to the edge of the litter box, resulting in her 'missing the target' and getting cat urine on my carpet. She also likes to kick the litter out of the box.In using a carpet cleaner, some of the litter left a grey-ish stain on my tan carpet. As we are renting this home, new carpet is not an option.Would a Rug Doctor remove this stain? Would it just make the stain worse, by getting more of the litter wet?

I don't think the carpet cleaner will make it worse, but the urine may have soaked into the padding subfloor. Could you get a covered litter box. Our cat also had the same prob I replaced the tray with a covered box there is no longer the 'missing the box' prob the litter around the box is only from tracking, not kicking. If you think kitty cannot or will not use a new box, then you could invest in a high-quality doormat type little rug--like the ones people put in front of the exterior doors for wiping their feet. These rugs have water-proof backing so the urine will not soak through. Then all you have to do is rinse it off with the hose outside or wash on 'gentle' in the washing machine line dry. The backing will eventually crumble by washing it in the machine, that's why I suggest hosing it off outside. But you could also use Rug Doc to clean it periodically or invest (or ask for X-mas or your b-day) for a carpet cleaner or Spot Bot. Anything else will just get soaked through still get to the carpet. You could always put a tarp under the litter box. Sorry about the long post. I have 8 cats have been dealing with cat problems for the last 7 years. I found what works best for me I like to share the info.

I had a 14x14 room recarpeted, no carpet, concrete floor, no stairs, and the carpet, pad, and installation came to about $860. Throw in the stairs and I'd bet it'll come to about $1500. It also depends on what grade of carpet and pad you buy. I got the middle of the road quality for both carpet and pad.

Q:I'm looking for a living room rug approximately 8x10 or larger. Someone told me that I can perhaps be able to buy two pieces of carpet and have them made into a rug, it suppose to cost less than an already made rug and I can chose the colors I want. Q:I have a small area rug that my coffee table sits on. I notice every day that the rug buckles up and I have to keep lifting up the table and setting and smoothing the rug out. Is there something I can do to keep the rug from doing that?
