Q:Are solar panels suitable for residential use?
Yes, solar panels are highly suitable for residential use. They are cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and can significantly reduce electricity bills. With advancements in technology and decreasing panel prices, solar panels have become an attractive option for homeowners to generate clean, renewable energy and contribute to a sustainable future.
Q:hi, i got a pond and i am planning of putting some lights on it during night time. but i want to use solar panels and i have done a bit of research about solar panels and i know how they work, i know that the common voltage to use is 2v so you can use car batteries or deep cycle batteries, but my question is:. what wattage of bulb can you recommend2. how long it would take to drain my battery (can i have it overnight)3. and what wattage of solar panel should i get enough to recharge my battery the next day.hope anyone can help..thanks
You can get 6V cells and SLA batteries. You would get a panel and batteries suitable for the lights you get though. Depending on what you want to do, you shoud look into LED lighting, which is more efficient than incandescent. You do not want to drain your battery flat. Rather you want to draw only 2/3 of its capacity of so. You would find the lights you want (likely 2VDC), and add up the current they draw, and get a battery that would supply enough capacity (in AH, which is amps time hours) for a couple nights use (to account for weak solar days), and a solar panel to charge two days of use in one good day. You would use a charge controller so that the solar panel does not over charge the battery, and some sort of dusk timer to turn your lights on at dusk and off several hours later.
Q:I heard that solar energy has a lot of advantages but are there any drawbacks in using the solar panels?
There okorder /... ). These systems provide relatively high efficiency, since they don't convert sunlight to electricity, and they can be used to supplement or replace energy used for space and hot water heating - some of the largest residential uses of energy. Like any other appliance or household system, solar panels used to collect heat will require periodic maintenance. Hope this helps.
Q:How do you make solar panels and do you need a lot of them to make electricity?
It's possible to put together pre-made solar cells into your own panels, but the result will be far less durable, and more costly than simply buying commercial panels. You may encounter some websites offering to sell you information on how you can power your home cheaply with homemade panels. Every one of those I've seen is a scam. Save your money. Do you need a lot of panels to make electricity? To make a system that is worth it generally takes at least a dozen panels, although I'm sure exceptions exist. Also, it generally needs a professional install to meet legal requirements, although a few skilled homeowners do manage to do their own.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a sports stadium or arena?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a sports stadium or arena. Many stadiums and arenas around the world have already installed solar panels to generate clean and renewable energy. These panels can be mounted on the rooftop, parking structures, or even integrated into the facade of the building. The large surface area of stadiums and arenas makes them ideal for harnessing solar energy and reducing their carbon footprint.
Q:Can solar panels be used during a power outage?
No, solar panels cannot be used during a power outage unless they are connected to a battery storage system. Without a battery backup, solar panels will also lose power when the grid goes down.
Q:I'm writing a post-apocalyptic story in it the main character finds a warehouse. Eventually he finds out the roof is covered with commercial solar panels. Given it's been over a year since the majority of the world died no manainence was done, do they still work?
In my experience working with solar panels, I've found that the panels themselves are robust and can last years. How that energy is transferred from the panel to perform work (sorry for the boffinism) is where the complexity emerges, namely due to the fact solar panels produce DC current, and nearly all of our electrical appliances use AC current. In most cases, solar panels will either send energy through a DC/AC inverter directly to be used for appliances, or stored in deep cycle batteries, then converted to AC using an inverter when the user wants to use his/her appliance. Now to answer your question: the solar panels will be fine, and could conceivably be in fine working order with AC current available IF... and I cannot stress this enough (namely through years of field experience dealing with solar powered scientific instrumentation that was working well and then mysteriously not working)... IF rats and other rodents haven't eaten through the wires. This is probably the most likely reason that a set of solar panels wouldn't be working in your given scenario. Hope this helps, and good luck!!
Q:I thought they were going to make solar powered cars and solar power plants among other things. It was only nearly 0 years ago that solar power was the big thing. Just curious, why did it die out?
The technology did not die out. It is in fact quite alive and well, and there exist many different manufacturers of solar panels and devices utilizing them. The problem is that the technology has not yet advanced sufficiently to generate large amounts of power with solar panels, at least not with panels of any practical size and weight. You can easily buy a panel which will trickle-charge your car's battery during the day, but nothing that can generate anywhere near the power required to actually move a car's mass at any significant speed. You would need to buy panels with a very large surface area to make any significant amount of power, and these panels would be very heavy and very expensive.
Q:i need as many bad things there is about solar panels
They're really expensive. If you want it for practical use like a house or car powering system. They're bigger than like a battery if you're comparing size to power. Like a car battery can produce more energy than a 6 x 4 panel (just an example)
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a restaurant or food establishment?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a restaurant or food establishment. In fact, many restaurants and food establishments are increasingly embracing solar energy to reduce their carbon footprint, lower energy costs, and demonstrate their commitment to sustainability. Solar panels can be installed on rooftops, canopies, or even on unused land surrounding the establishment, providing a renewable and clean source of energy to power the operations.
