- You are correct, but only if you don't have to cut any tiles and the area you're tiling is basically one big rectangle with nothing in it like counters or appliances. If you have to cut tiles, the general rule of thumb is to multiply by 125%. In your case, that would be 110 tiles -- and bear in mind that general rule doesn't always work.
- Q:I want to install a towel hook in my bathroom, but it is all ceramic tile, including the walls. Adhesive doesn‘t work. Is there any way to put screws in the tile with out cracking the tiles? Thanks.
- You have to drill holes, using a masonry bit, thru the tile, and use an anchor of some sort. Best would be some sort of toggle bolt thru the drywall itself. A plastic expansion anchor would suffice. Any force on the tile itself, may cause eventual breakage.
- Q:The interior of my shower is all glazed ceramic tile. I have always used Tilex for cleaning with no problem. Recently I used a Lysol Bathroom cleaner and now I haved horrible white streaks down the walls where I sprayed it. How can I get rid of the streaks? Is it the product that made them? - Hi there, in my opinion Lustrous Italian cleans is the best solution for you tile just one rub on tile will dry cloth and leave it for 1 hour after one hour your tile smell good and shine before 3 months I have the same problem that you have that my tiles didn’t shine so I search a web on net and buy lustrous Italian for my tile but after rubbing the solution on my tile my tiles as look as new so If you were interested visit the website which is given below .

- No. That looks like just ordinary lay in ceiling tile. Texture is not really and indication of asbestos. Lots of things have texture that are not asbestos.
- Q:I‘m planning to tile up my space. It‘s a 27 square meters. I‘ve calculated the number of tiles. It will be around 140 to 150 pieces with extra tiles. How much or how many bags of tile adhesive will I consume for the 27 square meters space using 150 pieces of tiles? or What is the area a bag of tile adhesive could cover? Can you show me a computation.
- You don t say what size tile it is and what your going over as far as a substrate. It makes a difference. Since I familiar with the coverage in s/f and your post suggests you came from the states I ll use a s/f format and some generalizations. Assuming you have a larger tile you should be using a larger notched trowel.1/4x3/8 but you may want to use a larger 1/2x1/2. I ll go off of a 1/4x3/8 trowel. A standard 50# bag of thin set will cover an area of 60/70 s/f using a 1/4x3/8 trowel. Splitting the difference and using 65 s/f per bag, divide 65 into the 290 s/f you have. Or 4.46 bags. So you ll need 5 , 50# bags of thin set using a 1/4x3/8 trowel. If your using a different size trowel , all bags have a coversion chart on the back to figure your coverage. - Q:ok, i tiled my kitchen with the sticky tiles (not expensive ceramic ones or anything like that) then sealed it with a clear tube of sealant. it is about 3 or 4 days later, and the floor looks like crap. the sealer left behind a nasty tar trail or something. While the tile looks glossy and beautiful the places i sealed are dull and def noticable. How do I get rid of the excess???? I've tried scraping, it just don't work. help me!!!!
- If you are referring to silicone sealant, you can buy silicone remover.

- Forget the rental business, you'll pay for one day as much as you can buy one for your use. Go to Home Depot, they start at $88.00 for a cheapo that works just fine for a powered tile cutter. I have had one for several years now I paid $120.00 for it, two days rental, and it's done more then several bathrooms and floors, still going strong.
