Currently used in the bathroom tiles with glazed tiles (mainly from price considerations, some high-end can choose tiles, notice to choose tiles), divided into Shinny and Matt two kinds. Light color makes people feel shinny, but the bathroom more appropriate to create a warm feeling, so the best choose is uses matte, the shinny feels more soft and not dazzling.

Q:I need to remove several tiles for repair and replace the tiles with as little damage as possible
The first thing to do is stop hitting the tile with a hammer. I feel it is a far better idea to remove the cement board and tile all at the same time. You want to start removing tile where the ceramic tile ends and a different flooring material, such as carpet or hardwood flooring, begins. Do not try to start this job in the middle of the ceramic tile floor. for other information you can check my source site
Q:In a professionaly done job, what level of imperfection is acceptable. 12x12 porcellaine tile installed over backerboatd.at least a dozen tiles set either higher, lower, or tilted. Comapny says this is acceptable.
Depends on how much higher or lower, and how level the floor was to begin with. Are they following the contour of an uneven floor? Or are they just randomly out of whack? If it's a flat floor and the tiles are not flat, I wouldn't accept it.
Q:The tile of my garage is 10 years old. The house was abandoned and I bought it. The tile that was used was a textured ceramic tile. I‘ve tried brushing it and washing it with different products but it goes back to a dusty look. Any ideas on how to bring it back to life other than paying to get it polished by a professional. Thank you in advanced.
If you don't want to pay for the labor to have it cleaned, you will be the one to do it yourself. Elbo Grease. Get some Tile Acid Cleaner from the Home dpot/Lowes, and a couple of hand held scrub brushes, some plastic bristles, some metal bristles, (to see which works best). Get a spray bottle, poor the acid into it. do not delut with water. Not until after it has sat on it for 5 min and you have scrubbed and scrubbed. Then spray with water (lightly Misting) and wipe up with disposable towels. Dont forget the rubber gloves. After the entire floor is finished or until you are satisfied (or if you want to do in Stages) wait until entirely dry and get some Tile Sealer and begin to apply. Pay attention to the grout lines first then mop all over the tile. The cost for materials will be about $50--$70 But the labor is where the real money is. Have Fun I do not envy you.
Q:I‘m looking to replace a ceramic tile floor in my kitchen with a different style ceramic tile. The contractor says I have two options. He can either lay the new ceramic tile on the old, which will be cheaper than bringing up the old tile but then the floor will be raised 1 to 1 1/2 above current level. Or, he can take up the old ceramic tile but then he‘d have to remove the old layer of plywood and put down a new layer, which will be more labor-intensive and expensive. Is there any other issues regarding these two scenarios that I should take into account?
The largest advantage to taking up the old floor and replacing the sub floor is that you get a chance to see if there are any underlying problems (i.e. rot, unevenness, cracks). When I had my floor tiles removed and replaced, it was found that the original sub floor was improperly installed, was rotted by the kitchen door, and was hiding some structural issues. Sounds scary I know, but I would rather find out about these things and fix them before laying a new floor than having to rip up said new floor later to fix them.
Q:I have three ceramic tiles that need a special curved cut. I‘m just looking for some place where I can take the tiles in and they cut them for me onsite and I walk out with my cut tiles. Home Depot doesn‘t offer this service. Who does? I live in Atlanta.

Q:My kitchen has a white ceramic tile floor. It never looks clean, every speck of dirt shows. Because we live in a slab home, the tiles are glued right to the concrete. I hate to think how much work it would be to remove them. I could tile over - but it would make the kitchen floor higher than the surrounding rooms. Is there any suitable product for changing the color of the tile in such a high traffic area?
There is no GOOD way to do this. And you are right in that tiling over tile is a bad idea. You could go over it with a product like DuraCeramic, which would only raise the floor level up a small amount, but be aware that anything you put over that surface will likely make the existing surface unusable forevermore and you might regret it someday. The real solution would be to demo the existing tile and install new tile.
Q:Am I able to Lay down Ceramic/Porcelain Tiles directly on top of vinyl tiles. If So are there special material that I need to use.Even though the floor is in the basement, it seems that the vinyl is laid over wood, rather than concerete. Thanks for your answer.
Hi Well I am afraid that the answer is no you cannot, even if you use a screeding mix, the Thermoplatic/Vinyl nees to be removed, this is because Ceramic does not creep with differant heats like Vinyl, in other words they expand at differant paces, you would just end up with cracked up tile joints at the least. And self leveling compound would go the same way unless laid on a similar,(concrete etc) If you want to remove them try using a shovel makes thing easier, also IF you are careful, you can also soften the tile advhesive with a blow gun, BUT you must be very very careful Paul H
Q:I have installed tile around my shower and and ready to fill in the gaps between the tile. Grouting looks messy and I don‘t know how to do it. Is there a grout that comes in a tube that can be put into a caulk gun? Can I just caulk the whole thing? This one is new to me so any help is appreciated!!!
Use grout to fill the gaps between your tiles. Work in with a rubber float on a 45 degree angle. Press in hard. Wipe off excess grout from tile with a damp sponge. Use silicone caulk in the corner joints to allow for expansion.
Q:what are the pros and cons of having a ceramic tiled floor and a vinyl floor? house is in renovation.
Tile will add more value, but will feel colder unless you have it heated from below. Vinyl's cheaper (not by much though since it's a petroleum product), feels softer warmer underfoot. However, it can tear crack easier than tile. Tile can crack, but not easily. How about hardwoods?? They can go in every room, it's green, easy to care for, adds value to your home. Consider doing tile in the baths hardwood everywhere else.
Q:I have 12x12 tiles in my kitchen on the floor and about 5 of them are cracked/damaged. How hard is it to replace them, can I do it myslef or hire a professional? What materials will be needed?
It's very hard to match the tiles. Also you will have to remove the grout around each broken one, and then crack the broken one into pieces, then remove clean the surface, apply adhesive, and then the tile, and then grout. The color of grout will never match up 100% and neither will the tile. Also it will take you a good part of the day. Good luck with your project!
