FAQ

1.    For Polished Porcelain Tile, is the 30*60 available?

—— Yes, 30*60 is available. Due to the basic size is 60*60, we need to cut 60*60 tile into 30*60. 6 pcs are packed into one carton.

2.    What is the MOQ for this tile?

—— Normally the MOQ is 1382.4 m2 for one 20’ container. To support our clients, we could go with 3 models to fill one container at most.

3.    Can we use the carton with our own design and brand name?

—— Yes. Normally we go with Neutral Carton or our Carton with our CMAX brand name. But for carton of client’s own design, the MOQ for one size is 5 containers, due to the carton factory can’t arrange production if quantity is below 5000 pcs.

Q:Installing vinyl flooring over ceramic tile?
The best way to go about this would be to remove the old ceramic tile and start with a fresh clean surface. I know you are thinking so much work. It wont be that bad when you get a few of the ceramic tiles out use a hammer and a flat bar and basically knock them out you will be surprised how quickly they will come up. When this is complete you must get all the thinset from the tiles off or at least no big clumps left on the floor. When your surface is clean apply the thickness you need to your floor to keep the same height but remember you will be appling quarter inch lueon board with the dark side up this is also the smooth side if you another type of board it may make the surface look rough. Use screws to fasten down and make sure you fasten the edges well where the lueon board may meet. this will keep lines out of your vinyle floor or even from it not staying adhered properly. When you are done clean your surface for all debris and begin to lay your flooring. Always use a good adhesive. if you are using 1ft. squares use a rubber mallet to set each tile if you are using a one piece flooring use a wheighted roller to be sure every thing is adhering and start in one corner or one side and roll out slowly taking your time. If you have a concrete floor use all glue or if you have acess to a hilti gun nail the entire sub flooring down. When the entire floor is complete if you must walk on it be carefull not to twist you feet as you walk or lay some card board down. you can clean any glue off the surface with mineral spirits. On the outside perimeter you may want to install some quarter round to give your floor a finished look. if you cant nail glue it with liquid nails (glue) and caulk in all gaps. around tour tub you may want to caulk in also with a siliconized caulking. There plenty of colors of caulking if you are not looking for white. Also one last thing paint does not stick to silicone so if you have any areas that may require painting to do not use silicone.
Q:Do I need to lay backerboard before I lay tile?
Ceramic Tile Backerboards There are many types of backerboard products suitable for use with ceramic tile. We will focus on two of the more popular products: 1/2 thick, water resistant greenboard sheetrock and cementitious type ceramic tile backerboards (recommended). Subfloors We recommend that 1/4 or 1/2 thick cementitious ceramic tile backerboards be installed as an underlayment over wood subfloors. The exterior grade plywood should be at least 1-1/8 thick (5/8 minimum) in order to provide for a structurally solid, movement free foundation. In addition, the space between the joists should not exceed 16 on center. In any case, the maximum allowable concentrated deflection of your subfloor may not exceed L/360 of the span. Install backerboard using a non-modified thinset mortar and 1-1/4 screws or nails. The diy network website is a great place to go to find information about any home improvement projects....good luck!
Q:Tile question?
dont go without grout, use a minimum of 1/16 inch space. for this small of a grout space, you must use unsanded grout........
Q:Remodeling kitchen. Do I replace cabinets or ceramic tiles first?
In your situation, you definitely want to tile the floor first. Remove all existing cabinets and tile the entire floor. It levels everything up for you and eliminates a lot of potential problems with appliance installations, etc.
Q:How much should tiling a 80 square feet area cost? Pattern not complex?
I recently tiled a room of approximately the same size. Not including the cost of the tile, it cost about $150.00. I used quick set, which costs about $40 per tub. One tub, if used properly, should be enough. If the floor on which you are installing the tile is not concrete, you should stronly consider using the backing board. This will help reduce the chances of the grout, and tile from cracking. If installed on a wooden (plywood) floor, the floor can flex, resulting in cracking of the tile and grout.
Q:Tiling Tubs??????????
(s+2)^2-s^2 would provide the area of the tile border. It is equivalent to the area of the whole hot tub installation, including tile, minus the area of the tub itself. 4(s+1) would be a length in feet, and is not equivalent to any area. The perimeter of the hot tub is 4s, and the perimeter of the whole installation, including the tile is 4(s+2). 4(s+1), ignoring units, would give the number of tiles required for the border, which if multiplied by the area of one tile (1 ft^2) would give the area of the tile border. (s+2)^2-s^2 = s^2 + 4s + 4 - s^2 = 4s + 4 = = 4(s + 1) sq. ft. is also the area of the tile border. So they are the same, if you account for the difference in units.
Q:How many tiles do I need?
108x61 is same as 9ftx 5ft (close enough!) So--4 in. tiles would be 12 per sq ft--9x5 =45 x12 =540 tiles. Plus 54 for breakage. You should always add 10% for breakage. Unless tiles are very strong and can`t break easily when cutting to fit! But at least 10% gives you extra for future repair or mistakes when installing.
Q:Which trowel for stone tiles?
the grout for these tiles are generally available wherever the tiles are sold. It's mixed with water the same as any grout. You will need a grout trowel to push the grout into the crevices. The trowel is kinda spongy. Work on small areas at a time and do your best to get as much grout pushed in as possible for best results. after it dries (the next day) take a rag and some vinegar to clean up the mess on the tile surfaces. let the scent dissapate and then seal the grout with some grout sealer. 2 coats should be enough. exact directions for the sealer will be on the package.
Q:Tiling shower ceiling?
cut kickers, or braces, to hold them. i.e. 1x2 pine sticks are sufficient. cut to estimated lenght, usually 1/8 to 1/2 inch longer. counter tops, and solid step benchs help limit material used in this way. also once placed, kickers can be shared, by placing at edges of tile to hold two to four (corners) at once.
Q:cleaning a kitchen tile back splash?
DAWN dish detergent.....THE BEST cleaner in the world.........if it's a tough stain, add a bit of toothpaste or baking soda. Dawn is the best!
