Depends on what you mean by strong. Considering that the chain mail shirt on that site is butted mail (rings that have simply been bent closed).... If you are going to be using it for any contact re-enactment type stuff, or any kind of protective gear, definitely not. You can bend aluminum rings open with your bare fingers. So anything hitting that mail with force will destroy it very quickly. Even steel rings make for pretty useless protection if it is butted. The rings simply bend open. If you want protective chainmail, the rings will have to be either riveted or welded closed, and made of steel. If you mean durable for just wearing as cosplay or for a quirky fashion statement, then it will probably last a long time, though with aluminum, the rings have a tendency to bend open on their own. I´m not sure if anodized rings will do this because I´ve never used anodized rings. If you can get a riveted or welded version then that will certainly last a life time, but I wouldn´t use it as protective gear unless it was made of steel.

Let's look at Aluminum, the ratio of Al to Al2O3 is 4:2, so, we have a ratio of 1.4 moles of Al / (x) moles of Al2O3 = 4/2 (x) moles of Al2O3 = 1.4/2 (x) moles of Al2O3 = 0.7 With 1.4 moles of Al, you'll make 0.7 moles of Al2O3 Now let's look at Oxygen, the ratio of O to Al2O3 is 3:2, so, we have a ratio of 1.35 moles of O / (x) moles of Al2O3 = 3/2 (x) moles of Al2O3 = 1.35/1.5 (x) moles of Al2O3 = 0.9 With 1.35 Moles of O, you'll make 0.9 moles of Al2O3 NOW, this is where the limiting reagent comes into play again! You can only make as much of your product as your limiting reagent will allow! So while that 1.35 moles of oxygen is willing to make up to 0.9 moles of product, your 1.4 moles of Aluminum can only make 0.7 moles when it's giving everything it's got. SO.... your limiting reagent here is Aluminum, and when you react 1.4 moles of Al with 1.35 moles of O, you form 0.7 moles of Aluminum Oxide and have left over Oxygen (because not all of it is used up!)

I do not believe they will sell to non-business affiliates. If you wish to make it it will be very difficult since most things of aluminum are not pure...even foil has a percentage that is not aluminum. As a chemist I know lots of things you can do with it and I hope you do not wish to make anything horrible. There are numerous chemicals that the company I work have, that have been placed on a Warning list the FBI and various other groups keep for safety hazards as well as potential threats.
