- its a defect.....the layers of rubber have disbonded and air is passing thru the layers....creating a bubble (or baby) on the sidewall........the tire is weakened by this....NOT GOOD AND RETURN!!!!.....any sidewall damage is BAD.....gouges, deep cuts, bubbles/babies, peeling, etc....ALL BAD

- its better to get a dedicated snow tire. offroad tires are better than all season, but snow tires are best in winter. because as the other person said, snow tires are made out of softer rubbers, so they stay softer in the cold compared to all seasons. i highly reconmend michelin x-ice!!! that tire is AMAZING! our rwd van never got stuck when we got them! the winter before, we got stuck a few times. if you want to spend a bit more, get the x-ice 2, even better!!!

- soft tires have more grip but dont last long, medium tires last longer but have less grip, and hard tires last forever but have no grip. it just depends what type of race you are in. if its a dash on an oval than you would want soft tires, but if its an endurance race, than you might opt for medium or possibly hard.

Tires are your contact with the road surface, and you want quality down there on all four tires! When you're at the tire store, ask the service people to show you how to check the tread depth and how to regularly check the air pressure. In many states it's actually illegal to be driving on tires with less than a minimum tread depth of 2 / 32nds of an inch. Purchase a tire pressure guage if you don't own one. And, check your car's owner's manual for the recommended rotation schedule and procedure for your car. And happy, SAFE driving!

- There's something wrong with your story. Most bicycle companies put OEM, Original Equipment Manufactuer, tires on their bike. I don't like the tires that come on the bike when it is new, they are tighter on the rim, and hard to remove and reinstall if you need a new innertube. Kenda makes fine tires. Kendas are inexpensive, but theres nothing wrong with them. You could easily get 3,500 miles rear and 5,000 miles front on a set of Kenda Tires.
