Q:Why when you loop a straight wire into loops (coil), it acquires a higher inductance?: If the ends of the wire are joined to form a circuit each loop forms a path for induced current, the currents of each loop are accumulative.

Q:I got molds done a while back for my finishing wires on my braces. I'm getting them Tuesday, but I'm not really sure what the difference is between finishing wires and the wires I have now. So I'd be delighted if someone could explain:) Also, after you get finishing wires, about how much longer is it until you get your braces off? And, would you recommend the wire retainers, or the clear ones? Why? Thanks in advance!: Finishing wires are for the final stage of braces. They are pretty strong wires that snap tightly into your brackets so the orthodontist can finely control the teeth and line everything up nicely. I can't say how long until you get your braces off...that's kind of a case by case basis. Typically the wire retainers are better than the clear ones from a hygiene perspective. They can also be adjusted unlike the plastic ones.

Q:do speakers function better with thick or thin wires??: well thicker wire is best especially if you have amps and subs, you can go to walmart, autozone or advanced autoparts and buy speaker wire, you can buy a roll of it, it'll say speaker wire on the roll, but stock speaker like 6 1/2 or 6x9s only need the thinner wire but you'll need the thicker speaker wire for subs and amps

Q:I have an immersion heater in my hot water cylinder (UK airing cubbard), but the wiring isn't connected. But, I seem to be missing a small piece or two. The previous lead wire from the timer/switch is stil there and has two wires in it. Q:I have 1971 slide in truck camper with 5 way pin wiring wires are red, white ,yellow, black,green.need to know what wire's do what...thanks: The wires are as follows: 1 = Trailer (battery 12+) wire (for trailer break-away battery) 2. white= ground 3.Green= right turn 4.yellow=left turn 5.Brown ( should not be black) is the tail lamp circuit ADDED: Ground on trailers are always white! And there is NO Black wire on a trailer harness! (if there is you will need to trace it out because someone put the wrong color wire in there!

If not, is there anything remotely like it? thank you for your help.: If you are asking if you can electrically make cold like you can electrically make heat, you cannot, physics just doesn't allow it. Any device that is known to make cold does it by forcing the heat to go elsewhere, either by air or plumbing. If you mean you want to keep something at temperature, you need thermal insulation.

Q:i have two 12 gauge wires running from my battery to my sub amplifier, does this effectivly mean i have 6 gauges. each wire has a 15 amp fuse so does that also mean i have a 30 amp fuse?: Not effectivly but it will work. I strongly suggest that you upgrade your wiring to the proper gauge

Q:The wire I need only comes bare and I would like to try enameling it myself with polyester-imide or polyester-nylon, so that it comes out like magnet wire. What all would I need?: You can't use bare copper for coil windings. It would be like having a shorted coil. The varnish or enamel gives a coating thick enough to insulate from shorting and thin enough to allow for efficient induction. I don't see how you can make a winding without it touching itself at some point. Most coils overlap.

Q:I'm splicing four pieces of 14-2 gauge copper wire to an 16 gauge electrical cord. The copper wire doesn't have any covering on it. Is it okay to connect the grounds, then attach it to my keyless lampholder? Or is something bad going to happen then?: Ground wires are typically bare. Just be sure as you put the wires and light back in the box that the ground wire is not near the connector with the black wire. The black one is the one that bites !
