Q:Keeping new floors clean?
By taking off your shoes at the door, and making sure you go through the house every day with the vacum, to make sure the dirt is picked up, because that is the culprit. And for dusting find a fuzzy pair of booties to use for dusting the floor works great clean as you walk.
Q:Solid wood floor decoration pay attention to what
Ground leveling, moisture-proof pad to be done, then the keel leveling, the baseboard to buy,
Q:Floating floor versus gluing down?
Floating floor is a good solution for a slab basement. Be sure you get the sealed pad to go under it and it will feel great to walk on. I have a floating floor in my basement too. I think it's much nicer than tile, linoleum or carpet on top of a slab. The issues you may hit. The concrete slab may not be level across it's surface, try getting a long (12 foot or more) level and see where the dips/humps are in the slab. If it's really bad you can get a self leveling concrete product at HD/Lowes that you can pour on top of the slab. The dips in slab will cause the floor to feel like it's giving away under you when step there. If your basement floods the floating floor (or any floor for that matter) will be toast. It will still look okay, but all the seems will be obvious. We had a 100 year rain storm and we got water that came up through the slab, ended up with ~4 in the basement. Arghh. Make sure you have a good working drainage for your foundation before investing big $ on the inside of the basement.
Q:floor 13 question! please help kinda freaky!?
It's a superstitious thing. The number 13 is associated with bad luck in some countries, and even has a specifically recognized phobia, Triskaidekaphobia, a word which was coined in 1911. Friday the 13th has been considered an unlucky day since the 1800s, as a combination between an unlucky day, Friday, and the number 13. The levels of a multi-story building are numbered sequentially, from basement, one or ground upwards. In some countries, the number 13 is considered unlucky and building owners will sometimes purposefully omit a floor so numbered.[1] Hence, the 13th floor is given the number 14. Even landlords who are not themselves superstitious realize that the desirability of suites on a floor 13 might be compromised because of superstitious tenants, or commercial tenants who worry about losing superstitious customers. Based on an internal review of records, Dilip Rangnekar of Otis Elevators estimates that 85% of the buildings with elevators did not have a floor named the 13th floor.[2] Also the Disney ride The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is known to have 13 floors, even though the dial on the elevator goes to 12. When on the elevator the doors have the numbers 13 on it, showing that the floor should not exist.
Q:Help me with ABC book on the ocean floor?
B - Blue C - Coral E - vast F - Fish J - Jewel ok - Kelp L - Lion Fish N - impressive P - Pearls Q - Quiet R - Reef W - Water X - Xilerating wish it quite is powerful adequate im sorry i could no longer arise ones for G, Y, and Z.
Q:How to remove a paint can stuck to floor?
Try a real thin spackle knife & lightly tap around the perimeter & it will eventually come loose. The can has probably rusted & you don't want to hit it too hard, keep some rags handy when you do this.
Q:proper installation of linoleum floor?
It all depends on how you want to put it down. It is very important to have a smooth sub-floor as most surfaces will transfer any imperfections to the new floor i.e. bumps, dirt, and even patterns from previous flooring. You can either do a floating floor, where you just lay it down. Then there is a full spread glue down, where you glue the entire surface of the floor down. finally, there is just doing a perimeter glue down where you just glue down the floor around the edges. It gets a little tricky if your room is larger than the usual 12' width that the flooring rolls come on and especially if you have a pattern match. Seams need to be very tight so they are not noticable. After the floor has been put down it need's to be rolled with a very heavy roller to adhere the floor to the glue and remove any air pockets left.
Q:How do you level a floor, for installing lamanited floors.?
First unlike the guy said you don't have a subfloor problem these are just inconsistancies that comes with any thing you buy especially in lumber. Floor layers use a stuff called floor leveler it is easy to mix and easy to put down all you need is a flat troweland put a coat on the floor. It kind of works like a concrete trowel. Just put the stuff on the floor and let it dry then your best be is to put down some kind of underlayment. The profesinals will tell you a hard wood underlayment, like oak or white birch etc... I have yet to understand why they do that but most places won't warrenty the floor without the stuff. After you get that down all you have to do is lay your vinyl and you are done.
Q:What is a good flooring?
Kitchens are high traffic areas and all flooring will take a beating over time. Tile is usually the best option but vinyl, hardwood, cork, concrete, paper bags?!?(saw this on another ?) and more are making the way into flooring. Research your options. As for the tile. You shouldn't put down tile directly over plywood. You will need to redo it with a cement backer board like Hardi-Backer or Durock.
Q:What kind of tiles is good?
OKorder many, want to buy what kind of have
