- Q:Wood panel on large rolled arm, bun feet, and panel across bottom have carvings of leaves . Panel came off when moving and has 3 nails sticking out from the inside. How do I fix it?
- If nails are in sofa pound them in. Get some Elmer's white glue and glue the panel to the sofa. You need clamps or rubber bands or something to hold panel for 24 hours. If nails are sticking out of panel then they need to be snipped or cut flush and then do the gluing. If you try to nail it will look crappy. I have a grandfather's clock that is glued panels and it has held since 1983.
- Q:I just bought a beautiful victorian style sofa, but I also need bar stools. I'm in a one bedroom apartment and have used the dining area as an office area, so I want to put two bar stools at the pass thru to the kitchen. - Q:I want to get a really beautiful sofa bed for my living room. I have scoured the internet and all the sofa beds I have seen are really, really ugly.I have a beautiful couch already, and it would be great if I could just get it converted to a sofa bed.so my question is, does anyone know of any furniture repair people who will do this? how much do you think it will cost?any recommendations will be helpful.(please don't post links to already made sofa beds)
- It would be theoretically possible to convert your sofa to a sofa bed, but probably not practical. If you take the sofa cushions off, you will find a set of coils underneath them, covered with fabric. To make a sofa bed, those coils would all have to be removed and the sofa frame would have to be completely empty. Then you would have to purchase a sleeper sofa mechanism. It would have to fit exactly into the empty space. You would then need to purchase a sofa bed mattress to place on top. The whole thing would cost hundreds of dollars and be of questionable stability. There is an inflatable product that would fit on top of your sofa and convert it to a bed, if that is what you are looking for. You can find them online. Although inflatable items tend to deflate when you least expect it...... Unfortunately I think you are better off just looking for a new sofa bed/sleeper sofa. Good luck!

- Why would you buy a sofa you can't sit on to test the comfort? Why not find one you like and search for a better price on line?
- Q:We have a fabric-type sofa. We have 2 dogs. One sleeps on there as much as she can!!! She's a Choc. Lab so a larger dog. She gets the sofa smelling!I plan on taking a carpet cleaner to it to get it clean.How can I protect it from smells? I was thinking of getting a plastic like material and laying it on the seat area then covering that with like a soft fabric, like what they use for pet beds. - why are you making all this extra work for your self. IT'S A DOG ! You can still love care for it.I think dogs like sofas because they are up out of the draught, so if you put his bed where it's draughtfree then he will be happy. It will soon get used to the fact that dogs do not sleep on the sofa. Set the rule stick by it. If your man wants him to use the sofa let him clean it.
