- No you cannot use the SOFA stamp to come into the US. The SOFA stamp is for when you are in a foreign country with the US military. To get into the US you need to do the proper immigration process. The children if they are his, even though born outside the US are US Citizens so they will not need a Visa or immigration. you as the spouse will, as you were living overseas you could have applied for Citizenship earlier if you wished. You can go to the Embassy and do the paperwork.

- I worked for La-Z-Boy for 7 years. I was a salesperson, then visual mgr, then accessory mgr, then buyer, then designer, then asst mgr, then store mgr, then back to designer (my passion education). I own ALL La-Z-Boy furniture, purchased almost 10 years ago. I'd been in the furniture design biz for 20 years before I bought furniture, cause nowhere I'd worked - all high end, mind you - was the quality that I thought was worth the price, even at my employee discount. I am STILL impressed with La-Z-Boy furniture. I have a stationery sofa, the Avery armless chair, the Riley reclining chair in leather. I also have all my occasional tables from Hammary, which is a casegoods company LZB owns carries in their stores. I would still work for LZB if they had a store in the city I moved to. If you are going to spend $1000 on a sofa at LZB, you're getting a great sofa. Like any furniture line, they have a good, better, best quality level. The good quality is at he $599-699 price point, is the promotional line. GOOD will get you 3-5 years. BETTER is the $700-$899 price point. They will get you 6-8 years. The BEST is $900 over will get you 9 to 20 years, depending on the level of use other factors (leather will last 4x's longer, for instance). I highly recommend LZB. You will have to pay for delivery probably, it's worth every penny. Also, buy the accident protection plan...also worth every penny. Take good care of your furniture by vacumming it reguarly rotating the cushions reguarly. Maintenance is very important in extending the life of your furniture - (but, as you experienced, there's little hope for longevity of Rooms To Go furniture)

- Well I would try walking over to him and firmly tell him No when he does it, tell him to Get down or get off of the sofa ____ . Eventually he should get the idea but when he does get down after you tell him so, say Good boy!! and be very happy about it then tell him to sit, stay for about 30 secs or so... so he is focused on pleasing You... then grab a treat and offer it to him. I would also then show him to a place where he is welcome to romp around or lay upon. he should most definately have a comfy spot to play on although I agree it should probably not be the livingroom couch!! ~GL!!

- why not try some printed curtain fabric with some prints in burgundy pinks, green and peach. I mean some floral or geometrical prints. sheer curtains would look great too. artwork is up to your choice. but make sure it does not clash with the wall color. Another tip use the sofa color on the frame panel.

- It is perfectly possible to change a leather from black to white but not adviseable. Generally speaking black leather (unless it is an aniline style leather) has been created by dyeing and then pigmenting with a coat of special flexible pigment (paint) This is the way colours are created in leather. You cannot dye a leather that has been pigment coated you can only 'repaint' the colour. A job like this should be left to professional leather specialists who will have the correct products and methods to do the job and it is not cheap. If the leather is brand new the results should be very good as the leather is in good condition but going from black to white will always be problematic from a coverage point of view. This is definitely not a DIY job and although there are companies willing to sell you the products on the internet I would not recommend them as they are cheap products that will not last and then your sofa will be ruined. - there's a microfiber sofa at pier one stores this season that the salespeople swear is the most comfortable sofa bed ever. i haven't bought it, but have visited a few stores and they all say it. it retails for $699 also consider a mattress topper ( maybe 4 inch memory foam). it's usually thin enough to fold right in with the bed when you need to convert back to sofa.
