Being a vegan doesn't automatically mean you're concerned about the welfare of animals. It could be just a personal choice to avoid animal products in terms of food, but still prefer a leather sofa to decorate your house. It’s not like people pledged to believe in the same ideas and principles. It's ones personal diet choice. Some are vegans and are strongly against killing animals -- clearly those types would never have a sofa or anything made from a dead animal.

- I did automotive upholstery for over 20 years, including leather, and I can tell you there is no easy, effective repair for damaged leather. I have tried every brand of repair kit and home remedy I could find over the years, and none of them worked well. Some of them improved the appearance of the leather a little bit but most of them did nothing or caused more damage. You can remove the leather from the sofa and have it redyed by a professional, but the cost of tearing down the sofa, having it redyed, and then recovering the sofa is usually more expensive than a new sofa. If it is on a cushion or skirt or some other easily removable piece then this solution is cost effective. But be warned, the new leather will be close in color but will not match the rest of the sofa no matter how good the dyer is. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If you do find something that works then please inform every upholstery shop in your area. They are looking too.

- Q:How do you upholster a sofa, what items are needed, how much fabric should I buy? Or am I better off buying a slipcover, but they never seem to fit right.
- Upholstering is a very hard job and you are right about slip covers. You can buy fabric and cover over the upholstery that's already there. You can use fabric tape and some fabric glue and a staple gun. Cover the cushions to start then use the fabric tape to hold it in place. Then cover the arms and such and staple it underneath the sofa on the wooden frame. I DO NOT recommend this on a good sofa, but if it's something that you got at a yard sale, have fun.

- It is a interior decorators term that actually mean literally 'fitting the size of your sofa'. It is so it balances the interior design. Just something that looks proportionate to the sofa. Think of dimensions of about 1 to 2 meters wide depending on the sofa. You could always buy a painting-sized sofa if you like the painting better. ;-)

- Caution: If your cotton fabric is Haitian cotton, do not use water or any water-based cleaner. It would cause a permanent stain. (I speak from sad experience. Too late I read the care tag!)

- I guess it would depend on the store's policy. Many stores will not accept return unless the item is damaged (not if it arrives and you think the quality was less than desired). I wouldn't order an expensive sofa online. I like to see, touch, and sit on my sofa before I buy it. Also, shipping can add quite a bit to the cost and, if the return policy is strict, you may have to shell out a lot of cash if you are unhappy with your purchase. My advice is to find something you like in a local store. If that isn't possible, and your heart is set on an online set, ask many many questions before committing to ordering. Best of Luck.
- Q:I really want to love this bed. It is quite comfortable yet I have one problem with it. Since it has two mattresses in order to fold into a couch, one always becomes higher than the other, resulting in me having a very frustrating time trying to sleep. - It's okay, not great, though. Very firm, so if you like that, good. I would not suggest it for someone who is overweight or has a bad back -- and certainly not for long-term. IKEA's Sultan mattresses are relatively inexpensive, and pretty good, if you're looking for a cheap bedding solution. I wouldn't look at the BEDDINGE as a long-term, every-night bed, though.
