FAQ:

Q1: Why buy Materials & Equipment from OKorder.com?

A1: All products offered by OKorder.com are carefully selected from China's most reliable manufacturing enterprises. Through its ISO certifications, OKorder.com adheres to the highest standards and a commitment to supply chain safety and customer satisfaction.

Q2: How do we guarantee the quality of our products?

A2: We have established an advanced quality management system which conducts strict quality tests at every step, from raw materials to the final product. At the same time, we provide extensive follow-up service assurances as required.

Q3: What is rattan?

A3: Rattan is a member of the palm family and grows primarily in Southeast Asia. It is an anomaly to a tree. Where a tree grows from small to large and has growth rings, rattan has growth nodules for each season. It can grow up to 300 feet in height before it is harvested and sent to factories that produce the furniture. It is an extremely durable wood that can be easily bent to make the very unique styles that makes rattan furniture so special.

Q4: What is wicker?

A4: Wicker is best described as anything that is woven. Natural wicker can be made from rattan or any wood type products that are small and easily woven. These are usually woven on rattan frame. Synthetic wicker made from resins and woven on aluminum frames is also available allowing this wicker to be used totally outdoors.

Q5: How long will it last?

A5: Rattan or natural wicker furniture can last for years. If used indoors, it is not unusual for it to last 20 - 30 years. Cushions last from 5 - 15 years depending on usage and exposure and can be easily replaced, by House of Rattan, at a fraction of the cost of buying new furniture. Synthetic wicker also will last for many years and its cushions can also be replaced.

Q6: How do you clean wicker furniture?

A6: Vacuum brushes tend to work well between the wicker's reed material. A warm wet rag with a bit of detergent can be used to get stains out, though test it in an inconspicuous spot first, as you may remove finish or paint.

Q:I would like to change my ikea bed into a sofa/couch. Does anyone have any plans i can model mine after?
mrriskey007 Great idea. Most of the work is already done. Chop it so that you have the correct porportion back to seat. Move the back's legs to the position for the seat's rear legs. Consider adding a middle set of legs. Obtain a new spar that will run the sofa's length and it will be the seat's rear frame. Install, maybe, the middle leg to it. The back's connection to the seat's rear might be as simple as a 1/2 thick piece of plywood used as a gusset. Picture a 45 degree x 90 degree triangle with the short leg fastened to the seat rear and the long leg fastened to the back. Size the triangle for best strength. Adjust the 90 degree angle for the best back to seat angle. Glue and screw seat frame to gusset as well as the back. Gusset will also help to contain seat's cushions. Will need two of these, one for each end of the sofa (duh). Might consider one for the center for additional strength of the the back to seat (plus the middle leg if needed). Whalla -- done. Sofa arm rests at its ends are simple to add too. Select a piece of stock that will be the sofa's seat front leg extention as an upright for the front of the arm rest. Select stock for horizontal part of the arm. Consider using a gusset to connect those to pieces. Connect the arm to the rear of the sofa which is the back frame. This piece of furniture is Swiss neo-modern design. See Ikea's LILLBERG sofa for leg - arm attachment concept without gussets.
Q:help with cleaning sofa....?
The only thing I can suggest to you is renting a steam cleaner. Maybee you should just wait until you can afford it. Thats how I always clean mine.....with a Rug Dr. ( I actually just bought my own eventually because I was renting them so often with 4 kids and two dogs!) With large peices of upholstered furniture, like sofa's, that are REALLY dirt, spot cleaning with a wet rag isn't going to do much. But if you come up with the money to rent a steam cleaner, I would definetely try to spot clean it with a wet rag and mild detergent everytime something got on it to avoid having to steam clean it to often.
Q:Green card holder and SOFA status?
You don't have to worry as long as his orders/job allow for him to have his family with him. Not only can you keep your green card, but your absence from the USA does not break your period of continuous residence for naturalization purposes. You cannot get a SOFA Stamp in a Japanese passport because you are Japanese. His orders will suffice as long as they are accompanied.
Q:New sofa, slipcover, or just wait?
I think you're getting some great answers. Not what you were hoping for, I'm sure...haha! I will add one more suggestion: If you cannot get the smell out completely or just gag at the thought of residual baby puke coating your behind, I would recommend you identify the cushions that took a hit and replace them. Sofas use what is called high density foam and it's pretty darn easy to replace them. Pull the foam out of the cover. If it is not closed with a zipper, use a seam ripper to carefully open up the back edge of the cushion cover. Once you have the foam exposed you can see how thick it is. Order the appropriate foam and use the Hamilton Beach electric knife to cut it. You can use a kraft knife to cut the foam but the edge won't be very good. The electric knife will make you look like a pro. Just be sure to practice a bit before you make the real cuts. And of course, all you need do is put the old foam on top of the new foam and trace the outline. Finally, insert the foam back into the cover and stitch it closed using a blind stitch if you know how. I've included a link on how to do this. And just think, having fixed it up you can sell the sofa when you move!!! Buyer beware....hahaha ...where do you live? :D
Q:how to reattach wood panel on rolled arm of sofa?
If nails are in sofa pound them in. Get some Elmer's white glue and glue the panel to the sofa. You need clamps or rubber bands or something to hold panel for 24 hours. If nails are sticking out of panel then they need to be snipped or cut flush and then do the gluing. If you try to nail it will look crappy. I have a grandfather's clock that is glued panels and it has held since 1983.
Q:Anyone have an estimate of changing the color of a sofa?
Find out who makes the sofa and order it through another furniture store. Everything can be special ordered, that store just doesn't want your business.
Q:Will a sofa with a back height of 29 (floor to the top of the back of the sofa) fit through a 29 doorway?
Depth Of Sofa
Q:will a green sofa go on white walls ?
I've always been told that you can't go wrong on anything with white. Go for it,I think it will be fine!
Q:where can i get sofa bed recovered?
The Sofa Workshop, Milsom Street, Bath.
Q:Is my sofa too big for my living room?
Or your livingroom is too small for your sofa...
