- Both sofa beds and futons really require paying the best price you can in order to get comfort. I have sold both in upscale furniture stores. Don't chintz on either. For a small room you would do better to go with a day bed and pick your own mattress therefore choosing your own ultimate comfort. Then, too, you wouldn't have to pull out your bed every night and remake it. I would definitely choose the daybed.

- It all depends on the sofa bed. Futons for instance are fine, they have a quite hard mattress, and they are OK for using regularly, but maybe not for many years. Other sofa beds are usually for occasional use and therefore not necessarily good for your back etc. You could get a futon and top it with a reasonably good mattress, as this would also be higher and therefore more easy to get in and out of bed. I'm sure that would be better, but it would not save you much space in the room.

- I don't know if your area has any stores, but Big Lots has sectionals right now for $299.00 they also have a web site!! Also, check around where you have flee markets, in my area there is usually a tractor trailer with new furniture on it for cheap money, and some Habitat for Humanity (reuse) stores have brand new furniture its more or less a shot in the dark but some get lots of new stuff in daily.. hope it helps

- Yeah, that Urine Be Gone or whatever it's called spray works pretty well. It's in a black spray bottle with a red label. I got it at Target.

- Wipe down the sofa with warm water on a soft rag. Consider washing it with saddle soap. I have only used it on shoes, handbags and boots, so no idea how long this will take. You can find it with shoe police at your local store. Or there may be some type of leather treatment cream that will restore the look of your sofa. As for the dog, consider getting a blanket that stretches all the way across the seat of the sofa, fold it in half lengthwise, and insert long pieces of aluminum foil between the layers. Put this on the sofa. Dogs and cats hate it and will avoid the sofa. It will protect the sofa when you cannot. Be sure to tuck it in firmly around the edges when you are not at home. (It will look fine if you choose a blanket that goes with the decor; try it first with something you have on hand.)

- Ask a furniture salesperson for a curved wedge sectional sofa. Most sectionals are made from a sofa with 2 arms and a sofa with one arm and they fit together in a corner. What you want a sectional that is two sofas with arms only on the opposite sides and a curved wedge to join them. This is not hard to find in cloth or leather. It is my preference because no one wants to sit in the square corner but someone will sit in the curve. Good choice. Consider a suede microfiber with a texture if leather is too expensive. It will wear well, won't stain. Get a leather that does not scratch with your fingernail.

- This is a new one on me...any couch I have ever bought was assembled in a furniture factory and delevered by the company I bought it from...nothing self assembled!
