Q:I'm almost done building my box for 4 subs and I want to know what kind of carpet is the best to use and where to get it.

Best kind of carpet, is the type that is easy to clean. My neighbor has very shaggy carpeting, and the result is more bugs, and gunk in the floor, and dirt and stains are hard to remove. Stick away from cotton, wool, polyester, etc. There are specialty carpet stores, check your local listings, also general Bed Bath and Beyond Type home improvement stores have various carpets. For cheap deals try visiting the Flee market or something. Since carpets are personal preference, it is best you feel the texture and stuff in the store for yourself.

Q:I have an ugly pink-tan carpet that has to go. Underneath the carpet is wood. But the wood is a bit rough and doesn't have any color to it. How do i remove my carpet and fix up the wood floor underneath?

take a knife to the corner and pull it up cut all around the edges and just pull. use some goo-be gone if you need to with the glue. then take one of those power tools that make the floor smooth. (idk what they are called lol) smooth out the floor and stain it :)

Q:Ok so my toilet over flowed over night, which caused some water to go onto my living room rug(Clean Water). Its not too bad but bad enough that it needs to be cleaned. It dried up but now it seems to have white patch's on the rug? I really hope its not mold... but I just want to know does anyone know how I can clean this? Any special cleaning products??? If this rug is a machine-washable rug, just wash it in your machine. Then dry it in your dryer, but don't over-dry it. If the rug isn't machine-washable, take the rug to a Dry Cleaner. They should be able to clean it for you. Now if were talking about wall-to-wall carpeting, your best bet is to have the carpet professionally cleaned. Professionals not only can clean the carpet, they can add special deodorizers so that mold doesn't end up growing in the carpet. Cleaning just one room should cost that much. I don't know of any home remedies but the super markets carry several brands of carpet foam and squirt containers that do a pretty good job.

Q:My sister-in-law gave us a lovely rug as a house warming gift 10 years ago. I prefered using the old wash and rinse method of cleaning it. It wasn't anything very expensive but it was, is, lovely.I lifted it to wash and store away for the summer but was saddened to see a thick layer of yellow dust like stuff exactly where the rug was laying. It seems the bottom layer of the rug has aged and is crumbling away into dust.Is there anything I can do to save it?

Is this a tufted carpet? It may be the glue disintegrating. Depending on the rug, usually there's not much you can do which would be cost effective. Sometimes you can re-latex the back, but this is quite a project... Tufted rugs are really meant to be disposable

This should remove it, it removes most carpet spills except things like ink.

There is dust on the carpet, you can wash the broom in soapy water, sweep the carpet, with the dip, keep the broom moist, and then sprinkle with fine salt, and then broom cleaning, and finally wipe with a cloth clean.

Q:My carpets are heavyly stained, i have shampooed them using bleach, but the resalt i want is to bleach them as close to white, or clean i can get . Ihave to small children in the house to think about too! Any suggestions on how to clean the carpet myself, within a day would be great!

I have a tan carpet and discovered that Woolite OxyDeep works wonders. Then you get a heavy duty carpet cleaner and a Bottle of Resolve and clean away. If that doesn't work then you are probably going to have to get a new carpet. And don't give up after the first try.....if it is as dirty as it sounds it is....you are going to have to go over it several times.
