Q:does it moves up and down with the valve stem??
A poppet valve is a valve consisting of a hole, usually round or oval, and a tapered plug, usually a disk shape on the end of a shaft also called a valve stem. The shaft guides the plug portion by sliding through a valve.. not sure if you are talking about tire valve stems? if so the poppet valve moves within the valve stem. I have also heard them referred to as Schrader valves see link
Q:I was wondering if anyone knew how important tire valve stem caps were in maintaining inflation pressure in auto tires? I noticed one of my tires losing air slowly (from 30 psi to 21 psi in about a week) and this tire (unlike the other three) also had a missing tire valve stem cap. I've just replaced it, and was wondering if a missing valve stem cap caused faster loss of tire pressure.
The only way it will leak is if the valve stem core is loose. There is a tool sold tighten it. Take some dishwashing liquid and mix water with it. 30% dishwashing liquid and 70% water. Poor a little on top of the valve stem. If it is leaking it will bubble.
Q:How do you know if you need a new EGR valve or if you just need to clean it?
Take the car to a dealership (Ford, if you have a ford, etc.) This could save you being ripped off by a shade tree operation. Believe it or not, lol, there are some crooks out there!
Q:its a vauxhall movara van and i need help im trying to found out wether the valves are broken all the springs are upright and all level , so does this mean there ok ? or not ... thanks
You need to have someone crank the engine and check to see if all of the rocker arms are moving.
Q:how do you replace the pcv valve on a 1997 ford escort
VERY easily. The rubber hose that is routed to the top of the throttle body on one end, is connected to the PCV valve on the other end, where the exhaust manifold is situated, by the radiator cooling fan.
Q:Just wanted to know what the significance of the number of valves is?I know that theres valves for intake and exhaust if i'm correct.if there is four i'm guessing its 1 for air and 1 for fuel if its fuel injected. and 2 for exhaust?are there bikes with 3 valves or more than 4 valves and why?and a basic carburated 2 stroke just has an intake from the carb side and then an exhaust.please give me more info and let me know if i'm correct or not.
3 valves: 2 intake, 1 exhaust (Honda CM400/450, for example) 4 valves: 2 intake, 2 exhaust (very common) 5 valves: 3 intake, 2 exhaust (some Yamaha sport-bikes) 8 valves; 4 intake, 4 exhaust (Honda NR bikes only) Multiple valves allow much greater flow at partial valve openings, when flow is dependent on total valve circumference, rather than total valve area; Multiple valves each weigh less, allowing a higher rev ceiling without valve float;
Q:I had a doctor who was suspicious of me having a heart valve problem. I don't want to be on medication for the rest of my life. I only want to change my diet, pray, exercise, and meditate. I don't believe the doctor has that cure for that problem that's if it was a heart valve problem.
It depends on what sort of heart valve problem you have, how bad it is, and how bad the symptoms are. Sometimes you don't need to do anything special except watch the diet and lifestyle, sometimes you need medicine, and sometimes the cure is surgical repair or replacement of the valve. I think prayer is a fine thing to help, but the Lord also gave us the skills so doctors could provide something a little more physical. If your heart valve problem is bad enough, it can cause damage to your heart and the rest of your body that all the prayer, diet, exercise and meditation in the world won't help fix. However, as a patient, it's always your decision if you want to take the doctor's advice or not. Otherwise you could find yourself dead, and explaining to God why you chose not to take the help He provided for you. So before you go making any decisions, you need to wait until you find out what the entire story is. Then weigh up all your options carefully, and decide.
Q:My mother is 40 and is going in on the 21st for an aeortioc valve replacement. We are so stress on deciding between what type of valve she should have to get. please help. please include things like costs and medicines and anything else that will give us more info.
I okorder /... okorder and I will answer from my personal experience. The only difference in her surgery and mine is that they are replacing her aortic valve and I had my mitral valve replaced. Oh, I forgot to add about costs, depends upon State you live in. Here in NC my surgery in 2003 was about $60,000 to $70,000 (but I did have insurance and I only ended up having to pay $2,500. I was in the hospital for 9 days also.
Q:Also what prevents this from occuring? I have a lab due tomorrow for my biology class this is one of the questions. the answer is no where in my book, and we haven't discussed this in class. im also having a hard time finding the answer online. i would assume it would have something to do with the elasticity of the valves, and i know that when valves are weak sometimes blood can flow back into the artium when the ventricle contracts causing a heart murmur and other problems, but i haven't came across any information that talks about the valve being pushed backwards. if you can help me out that would be awesome! thanks =]
Valves, because they open when your heart pumps and close, not allowing blood to flow backwards after the pump.
Q:I have an above ground water pump. there is good pressure(40), but the pump does not stop. Pump co did diagnostic test and said that foot valve needs to be replaced. The company charge me $399 for diagnostic test and and about $2200 for the foot valve replacement. It is reasonable.
Sounds outrageous to me. Besides the price I don't understand how a foot valve would cause the pump not to stop. Basically all a foot valve is, is a one way valve that allows the water to be pumped out of the well, and closes when the pump stops to keep the water from returning to the well. Maybe there is extenuating circumstances that would make the bill so high. A deep well would be more expensive than a shallow well, because there are two pipes to pull and they are much longer. It would be interesting what the invoice says the individual charges were. Parts, labor, etc. $2,599 should be enough to replace the whole system pump and all. Unless of course this is something like an irrigation pump. Good Luck
