Yes it does. I don't know how much but I know with these new lithium batteries they aren't supposed to be charged longer than they need. It can cause reduced battery life over time

Q:I was using my wall charger yesterday for my iPod, and i plugged it into my wall so it would charge, and it did. But that night, I went to plug it in again, but the iPod wouldn't charge. I tried the wall charger in different outlets around the house, and none worked. I also tried pushing the charger into the outlet more, making it more secure, and it showed the charging symbol for a split second, and then went away. Did I somehow damage my wall charger? I don't see how I did Or is there something I'm missing? Please answer if you have any ideas, and thank you!!

either the charger or the charging port on your phone has been damaged somehow or there is corrision building up in one of them. Moto is notorious for being picky which chargers they use though. if you were using an off brand then it was just a matter of time before it stopped working. I recommend having a tech look at them, maybe just needs some cleaning to get working again, or buy a new charger.

Q:I have a Sony Vaio laptop for about 4 years now, lately (within a month) my laptop charger started make a faint cricket sound (but the charger still works), if I unplug it from the power source for some minutes, the cricket sound (the cricket sounds like tweeting, chirp, bird -like) is slowly gone. I like the chargers, They have a beast of a tight-end and receivers, HAD a legend at the RB but regretfully let him go. And our defense is consistently ranked in the top 5 in the nation. But I hate Philip Shivers. Sorry, I can't stand the guy, has a mouth that runs and doesn't stop, and when the blitz comes he becomes a puss and panics. A charger is set up to deliver the energy at a frequency ideal for the electronics in question. This can be anywhere between 1.5 volts to 12 and even 18 volts. If one electronic is set up to receive juice at 4.5v and the second electronic is set up to receive juice at 9v, you will fry the 4.5v electronic device by plugging it into the 9v charger. You'll kill the electronics this way. This is why chargers are not universal. On the back of all the electronic devices and chargers if you look at it can be found a volt measurement of the charger and of the electronic device. Hope this helps.

Q:I checked the voltage the hp gives 19.5 volts and my emachines charger gives 19 volts so its only the matter of half a volt and i have to use it badly so do you think that this will work?BTW i removed the battery and im currently using the hp charger

0.5V shouldn't hurt your machine but the real question is, do emachines charging circuit has some logic to prevent charging if voltage is off by 0.5V. Tried something similar once and it did not work.

Q:I have a USB travel Charger for iPod mp3 players. I have an iPod nano chromatic and the charger said that it is compatible with all ipods and mp3 players. But now when i plugged it in i am not seeing the symbol on the battery icon that my iPod is charging. what is the problem?

You need to split this problem into smaller parts to find the answer. Does your USB charger work with another item? Will your iPod charge from another charger? My charger has 3 components: the mains lead, the charger box and the USB lead. I can check the mains lead on another device and I can plug the USB lead into my laptop to charge my iPod. These are ways to help find which bit has gone wrong. If you put the charger close to your ear while it's working you should hear a faint hum.

No. You got to have the charger. It takes the rechargeable lithium ion NP-40 battery, and needs a charger. If you need it recharged quick, a good camera store may be able to charge it for you.
