Q:I had the rug from work about a year ago so its pretty old but every time i go to hoover its got a large amount of white powder under it! i have no idea what it is at first i had the gross idea that it was bits of skin but there is no way that much could accumilate in such a short timewhat is it and can i get rid of it
This rug has been abused on many occasions with so called cleaning/deodorizing powders. There are several of these products on the market. They are all a rip off, as they do not vacuum back out as the directions say. This rug will continue to bleed off these powders as long as you own it. Sorry, but the manufacturers of these products are practicing a scam on the general public, who are trying to save a buck or two by not having the carpet professionally cleaned when it becomes dirty.
Q:I am about to buy new carpeting for the family room. The current carpeting is pretty regular carpet, although I don't know what the technical details are. The problem is that my son gets so upset because his toy cars and trains don't roll very well on the carpet and he tends to try to put them on tables, etc. or the hardwood. The cars, etc. do pretty well on the area rug, which isn't too thick. I need suggestions for the type of carpeting to buy that would allow cars and such to roll. Is it looped carpet? I know ti's strange request. Thanks!
The carpet that you need for your son isn t really a very practical carpet for a family room. What your needs are is a low napped commercial level loop. It requires a 1/2 or 3/8 inch thick pad so it won t have the soft feel. It s like a berber but w/ real small tight loops .. Not a soft carpet but it ll do what you want for him. And it ll wear like iron so to speak.. Other than that , the lower the nap on the carpet the better play area for him. You can get low napped plushes and textured carpet and they ll be softer , it won t be quite as go for his needs, Maybe a lower looped berber but their prone to snags since they are a continuous filament fiber and if you get a snag ( from a truck wheel) and it get pulled or caught in the vacuum zipppp there goes a whole row e mail me if you have other carpet questions GL
Q:Hi yahoo answers give me a suggestions to remove the rugs from the carpet..
Rugs can be cleaned by yourself or letting them lay there unclean...Months have been known to devour areas of rugs due to lack of vacuuming... Also, dirt breaks down the delicate fibers of your oriental rug and causes uneven wear... Our cleaning process is gentle and customized to your specific rug type. Your rug will be cleaned off-site, and it yields high satisfaction....
Q:Hi yahoo answers how water is needed for carpet cleaning...I need the clear concept...
Just regular hot tap water. Make sure that rug is sucked several times with vac to make sure carpets can dry. Make sure rooms are well vented to prevent molding and dry rot. Do not place any furniture on carpet tell it is dry. Make sure if you use a spot gard on carpet you get it all out the best you can for the chemicals can break down the carpet threads, fibers, and backing. To much soaking of carpet will cause the padding underneath to get wet and that takes forever to get dry so use caution. Go slow like directions saw, but don't soak. GL!!!
Q:We found a really nice area rug in a storage but it somehow got wet and moldy, can it be cleaned? I have it laid out outside to completely dry out, would a carpet shampooer clean it, is there anything special I should use?
1. remove the excess moisture by running a wet/dry vacuum over the problem spots. 2. sprinkle some powder laundry detergent onto the infected spots. 3. clean the problem area with a mixture of liquid laundry detergent and water using a clean towel. 4. wipe clean with a damp clean towel
Q:I spilled a full ashtray on my off white carpet i scrubed it with carpet cleaner i still have a big black spot anyone know how i can get that out? Thanks
You should have not gotten it wet. You should have vacuumed it up right away. There is no real way to get that out of the carpet now. I have tried. I did the same thing. Spilled an ash tray, brushed off as much as i could, then used resolve. I still have the stain. nothing helped. Sorry :(
Q:My cat is 2 1/2 yrs old and I've had him since he was 6 months old. Within this past couple of months he started pooping for some reason on one of my kitchen rugs. I've tried everything to correct this. I've used Nature's Miracle, Vinegar, other pet odor removers, put food in the spot so he would avoid the area, and not only changed litters but changed to scoopable. NOTHING has helped!! At first changing the litters seem to help and I scooped it out every couple of days. My only other choice is to scoop it out every day and/or put him in a cage for a week all day long with his own litter to try and break the habit. Other than that I feel I've run out of options! HELP...I'm at my wits end!!!
My cat poo's on my Kitchen rug too. Just this morning I had to clean up a pile and prepare the rug to wash it again! It's very annoying. The only way I can get him to stop is to make sure that kitty litter box is scooped out atleast twice a day. The days I forget.. then I know I am going to find a pile of poo on that rug. Some cats are just extremely picky about their kitty litter boxes. Maybe try a bigger kitty litter box or if you have the money, get one of those self cleaning ones. Try getting two litter boxes. I do notice that the kitty litter does matter too. When I'm running low on cash I get the dollar store brand. That brand I have to keep super clean but when I get one with the masking order dealy he uses it a little bit more before he decides the floor is his only option. Also I tried removing that one rug and he started using my daughters bed room and my closet which was horrible. So I would suggest dealing with the litter box before trying any potty repellent stuff cause I am sure the cat will just start going some where else in your house.
Q:I have to clean a carpet that has a red cool aid stain on it? Since it is not my carpet, I have no idea how long the stain has set into the carpet. I am willing to try just about anything short of a beach based cleaner? The carpet is an off white, so it's extremely noticable. Any suggestions, or is this a hopeless case?
Try using Resolve carpet cleaner. Resolve gets out the toughest stains.
Q:hello, im getting a horse soonshe is a 15.3hh 5year old mare irish type sorti live in eastern england so the weather is pretty changeable :/i was looking at some horse rugs and i found some i like i thought that i would get 6 (3 stable 3 turnouts)i was going to get a :12oz/340g filled turnout9oz/250g filled turnoutand a no fill turnout sheet.14oz/400g filled stable8oz/220g filled stableand a waffle/fleece stable do u think that would be ok? first time horse owner you see want to get it right :) do i need more or more heavy filled rugs??thanks xXp.s the horse will be out in the summer months and in at night out during the day in winter
Sounds good, just also get a few cotton rugs hoods, and maybe a polar fleece or wool under rug. Also maybe a fly sheet for summer. Keep the cottons under your heavy turnouts always because the turnouts are a bugger to wash. I have 3 cotton sets on rotation for each horse and throw them in the washing machine every 2 weeks. My only thoughts would be do you need both levels of fill stable rugs? You could always put a fleece underneath the lower fill if it was extra cold or wear the higher fill turnout inside. My boys tend to wear their turnout rugs in the stable as well unless its too warm, which is why I ask. Don't know whether this helps, the weather may be very different (i think maybe my winters/fall/spring are a bit warmer) and also the types of rugs available may differ but my ponies outfits are summer: day- light cotton flag rug cotton hood or fly sheet (never naked because of showing, their coats fade) summer night: cotton rug hood or ripstop or both if cooler. Autumn/fall spring: day: cotton + light canvas or cotton + polar fleece night: 180fill turnout rug/neck rug over cotton Winter: Day: cotton + polar fleece + canvas (or no fill turnout instead of canvas if wet) Night: cotton + 250 or 300 fill turnout rug neck rug. once clipped which is usually early winter they get cotton rug, polar fleece hood polar fleece rug + 250 fill turnout. This is just in general, of course I does vary according to weather changes. They are stabled at night and out during the day all year except on their end of summer 'holidays' when they run around naked in the paddock for a few weeks. :) I love rug shopping, it becomes very addictive, beware! :P If you are in the uk, get this hood rug set, I love it :) bestturnedout .uk/images/bsheep... My horses would probably be embarrassed to be seen in it never speak to me again, but I like it, bit too expensive to ship to Australia sadly though :(
Q:Ok so I'm trying to make my room cooler before high school and I need a new rug, but I don't wanna spend a bunch of money on one!It could be from 8'x10' to 10'x12'. Also, I need to fill in some room, and I have a futon at my house that I could make a cool couch but not the frame, so could you help me with that too? Any other ideas to make a room cool for a low price would be great, Thank you!!!
Target..Walmart...Big Lots Using the padded storage cubes like that have at most places like those listed above for footstools is great. Also putting a tray or glass across one to use like a table looks good too. Try checking out the local Goodwill and flea mkt. type outlets...Lots of treasures there!!
