- Q:This is for silver eagles, silver maple leafs, and silver rounds that i have stored in plastic coins tubes. I have been using cotton balls stuffed into the top to take up air space and prevent sliding around; but will this damage the silver?
- Cotton balls work fine, and won't damage the silver IF they are clean and you don't shake the tubes a lot. (Coin companies use cotton balls when shipping coins in tubes if needed.)

- Go to a regular vet. Though they are not bird-specific, it is still a better chance than trying to remove it yourself and risk damaging their esophagus. Hopefully it's not too late. Please at least call a vet; if you can't go to them, it's possible they can at least tell you how to safely remove the tube.
- Q:Hi all. My mom gave me an old lamp, not old cool or worth something just old. I think the proper term would be free standing. It has four bulbs, three surround the center bulb under a lamp shade. I'm trying to update the thing a little... painted the base and stand, got a new lamp shade, put in energey efficent bulbs.. the only part that is bugging me are these three plastic peices whose purpose is to cover the wires running to the bulbs above. One of them is cracked so i want to replace all three. Hoping someone can tell me the name of what I need before I gassed it to the closest home depot/lowes to return empty handed.Thanks for you help.
- Take the piece with you to the closest of these 2 stores and look in the plumbing isle for PVC pipe the same size. If the new pipe has writing on it you need to get off use a scotch brite pad.
- Q:I have speed queen commercial washers and the pressure sensing system becomes compromised by soap build up in the tubes that lead to the pressure switches. I have removed and manually cleaned each tube. Does anyone have experience with a chemical I can run through a wash that will disolve the continual build up and that chemical will not do damage to the rubber/plastic tubing?
- Soaps are soluble in mildy basic solutions, like ammonia. You might try that. Of course, if you're getting a build-up, it may mean your water is running high on calcium magnesium ions (i.e., it's 'hard'). In that case, water softeners may be your best best.
- Q:Is there an easy way to remember the color tubes (phlebotomy) and what test they are needed for?
- I don't know of an easy way to remember the tube types and tests. Its just something you have to work on - though it does come pretty quickly. Another important item is the draw order of the tubes. It's very important to ensure that tube contents don't contaminate subsequent tubes and cause erroneous results.
