Q:
Plastic tubes can be labeled using various methods such as adhesive labels, heat shrink sleeves, direct printing, or using markers and tape. The choice of labeling method depends on the type of plastic, intended use, and desired durability of the label.
Q:
To prevent plastic tubes from becoming brittle, it is important to handle them with care and avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures. Additionally, using plasticizers or additives during the manufacturing process can enhance the flexibility and durability of the tubes, making them less prone to brittleness over time.
Q:I added a bit too much Oil into the engine, so I decide that I would be able to suck the oil out with some tubing. However part of the plastic tubing fell off into the dipstick hole and it possibly in the oil pan now. I call some mechanic, and ended up having some say that it will damage the engine and some saying that it will not effect the engine. Can someone give me a more in-depth explanation. On how I can remove the plastic tubing? and How is will effect the engine? Should I even drive it?
Not good. The plastic could conceivably block the oil pump, causing a catastrophic loss of oil preeure. I'd recommend you drive it to your closest mechanic and have him drop the oil pan and remove it. It'll cost a lot of money, but not nearly as much as having the motor go away due to no oil.

Blood collection tubes must be drawn in a specific order to avoid cross-contamination of additives between tubes. The recommended order of draw for plastic vacutainer tubes is: First - blood culture bottle or tube (yellow or yellow-black top) Second - coagulation tube (light blue top). If just a routine coagulation assay is the only test ordered, then a single light blue top tube may be drawn. If there is a concern regarding contamination by tissue fluids or thromboplastins, then one may draw a non-additive tube first, and then the light blue top tube. Third - non-additive tube (red top) Last draw - additive tubes in this order: SST (red-gray or gold top). Contains a gel separator and clot activator. Sodium heparin (dark green top) PST (light green top). Contains lithium heparin anticoagulant and a gel separator. EDTA (lavender top) ACDA or ACDB (pale yellow top). Contains acid citrate dextrose. Oxalate/fluoride (light gray top)
Q:
Yes, plastic tubes can be recycled. However, the recyclability of plastic tubes depends on the type of plastic they are made from. Some plastic tubes, such as those made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP), can be recycled through curbside recycling programs or at recycling facilities that accept these types of plastics. It is important to check with your local recycling guidelines or facilities to ensure proper recycling practices for plastic tubes.
Q:
Polypropylene tubes generally have better chemical resistance than plastic tubes. Polypropylene is highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals, including acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. Plastic tubes, on the other hand, can be made from various materials such as PVC or polyethylene, which may not offer the same level of chemical resistance as polypropylene. Therefore, when it comes to chemical resistance, polypropylene tubes are usually the better choice.
Q:
Yes, plastic tubes can be suitable for electrical conduit depending on the specific requirements of the installation. Plastic conduits are lightweight, easy to install, and resistant to corrosion, making them a cost-effective choice for non-metallic conduit applications. However, it is important to ensure that the plastic conduit meets the necessary electrical code requirements for the intended use.
Q:I have a fairly old A/C unit in my home. Thanks to my lovely new puppy's curiosity a white tube running from the unit into the house is now broken. It appeared to be a plastic tube about an inch or so in diameter. What is this tube for and what would be the easiest method of repairing it? It is broken clean off and there is now about a 10-14 inch piece missing.
That is a drain tube that comes off your unit and drains codensation outside. To repair it just cut it off, get a coupling, glue it in one side then however long a piece you need on the other side.
Q:Have you ever noticed it becomed increasingly difficult to stop unwanted back flow of paste towards the sealed end of the plastic tube. Unlike the earlier metallic tubes which could be rolled up from the bottom and be self retaining, the plastic tubes cannot be wound up into a permanent situation but always unroll to a flat state. I have ideas for a simple solution involving no external gadgetry to fiddle around with, maybe you have ideas too?? Keep it simple. Thanks
use a clip that is used for closing off chip bags you just stick that on the end. then as you use the toothpaste you can push the clip up thus stopping the toothpaste from flowing backwards into the end of the tube. and pushing the toothpaste up you. just remember to clip the clip when you do this.
Q:
To clean clogged plastic tubes, you can try a few methods. Start by removing any visible debris or buildup by using a soft brush or cloth. Next, you can try using a mixture of warm water and dish soap to flush out the clog. If the clog persists, you can use a plunger to create pressure and dislodge the obstruction. In more stubborn cases, a combination of baking soda and vinegar can help break down the clog. If none of these methods work, it might be necessary to use a plumbing snake or seek professional help to resolve the issue.
